Hotel Description
You know, I’ve walked past La Perla E35 countless times on Avenida Juan Carlos I, and honestly, it took me forever to realize what a gem this place actually is. From the street, it looks nice enough – that clean, modern Spanish coastal vibe – but it’s one of those hotels that really shows its personality once you’re inside. The lobby has this relaxed energy that immediately tells you this isn’t some stuffy corporate chain trying too hard to impress anyone.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed the whole El Médano thing without being cheesy about it. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Playa del Médano, and the staff actually knows which spots have the best wind conditions if you’re into kitesurfing (which, let’s be honest, is half the reason people end up in this corner of Tenerife anyway). The rooms are solid – nothing revolutionary, but they’re thoughtfully laid out with proper storage space and those little touches that matter when you’re here for more than just a quick beach weekend. The balconies on the upper floors give you these glimpses of the ocean between buildings, though I’ll be straight with you – it’s not a full-on sea view situation.
The whole area comes alive in the evenings, especially during windsurfing season when the international crowd rolls in. You’ll hear multiple languages drifting up from the street-level bars and restaurants, and there’s this constant buzz of people planning their next day’s adventures. Parking can be a bit of a dance during peak times – the hotel doesn’t have its own lot, so you’re dealing with street parking like everyone else in the old town. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you barely need a car anyway. Everything you want is within walking distance, from the volcanic black sand beaches to those little tapas spots tucked into the side streets that somehow always have the best patatas bravas. The hotel’s location puts you right in the middle of it all without being directly on top of the loudest bars, which is actually perfect – you get the energy without the 3 AM drunk conversations under your window. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to the real rhythm of El Médano rather than isolated in some resort bubble.
