You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Finca Ecologica Ten Days on the TF-21 highway – honestly, the name had me curious more than anything. But once you’re actually there, winding up this little road in La Orotava, it hits you pretty quickly that this isn’t your typical three-star setup. The place sits right in the heart of the Canary Islands’ ecological zone, and I mean literally surrounded by that incredible volcanic landscape that makes Tenerife so wild to explore.

The whole property has this authentic farmhouse vibe that feels genuinely lived-in rather than designed by some hotel chain committee. What really got me was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main tourist strips that you actually hear the wind through the pine trees instead of traffic or late-night bar crowds. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully done, with those thick walls that keep things cool during the day (which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting in summer). I particularly loved the little details like the locally-made soaps and the way they’ve incorporated traditional Canarian elements without making it feel like a theme park version of local culture.

Here’s the thing though – location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where serious hikers and nature people end up. The TF-21 is basically your gateway to Teide National Park, so if you’re planning to explore the volcanic trails or catch sunrise from the peak, you’re looking at maybe a 30-minute drive instead of the hour-plus slog from the coastal resorts. The staff actually knows the hiking routes too, which is refreshing – they can tell you about trail conditions and timing rather than just handing you a generic brochure. Parking’s easy (always a relief when you’re dealing with rental cars on mountain roads), and the whole check-in process feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s place who happens to run a really well-organized guesthouse. That 9.4 rating makes total sense when you experience how they handle the small stuff – good water pressure, reliable wifi, and breakfast that actually includes local ingredients rather than the usual hotel buffet suspects. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because you realize you’ve found something a bit special tucked away in the mountains.

  My husband and I stayed here twice. The 1st time in the little apartment at the top. It was very clean, all the facilities you need and an amazing use of a small space. My husband and 1 are quite tall, so the pull out bed/ couch was quite neat for us, but ok. With the private use of the very large balcony with chairs and loungers to have my morning cuppa and soak up the stunning views of Teide and La Orotava, it felt like having an extra room. It is also very peaceful, yet so close to the main areas of interest.
  Elena and her friends who live downstairs were so helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble.
  We enjoyed staying at Finca 10 days so much we booked to come back and stayed in 1 of the larger apartments. Again, it is beautifully presented, so clean with all you need to prepare meals if you want. They provided an information booklet on the area, restaurant buses, etc, which you can catch just down the road into La Orotava and further.
  We are already planning to stay here again when we hopefully return to Tenerife next year.

  Sehr individuell, top gepflegt und blitzsauber, ruhig gelegen, grandioser Blick auf das Meer, das „Standard Appartement mit 2 Schlafräumen“ hat eine große Terrasse, sehr netter Kontakt zu den Vermietern, Spül- und Waschmaschine + Tabs…Tolle Unterkunft mit großem Parkplatz für das Mietauto!

  Dům je nově zrekonstuovaný, uvnitř vše nové, na krásném místě s výhledem na město, na Teide, na hory. V zimě je tam chladněji než u moře , je dost vysoko, ale ten výhled stojí za to. Je přímo na cestě k Teide, do Aguamansa, borovicových lesů je to 9 km. Pro turistiku velmi výhodná poloha. Autobusová zastávka je pár metrů od domu. Majitelé vstřícní a milí, apartmán má vše, co jsme potřebovali, vybavení je nové, vše čisté, a voňavé, majitelé se opravdu snaží udělat pobyt příjemný se vším všudy a myslí na naše pohodlí, parkování prostorné pro více aut, výhodou jsou balkony s výhledem na všechny strany . Posezení na balkoně s výhledem na město i Teide je nezapomenutelné. Ráno vidíte východ slunce na Teide, večer západ slunce nad městem. Vřele doporučuji.

  Elena et Denis ont été très accueillants. Le logement pour 4 personnes est neuf et bien équipé. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner et le lieu est parfait pour toutes destinations de visites. Nous vous le recommandons.
