Costa Canaria Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Costa Canaria in Santiago del Teide, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star property sits tucked away on Calle el Hibisco, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering — couples consistently rate it 9.5 out of 10, which tells you everything you need to know about the romantic appeal here. The building itself has that authentic Canarian charm without trying too hard, and when you’re standing on the third floor looking out, you understand why recent guests have been raving about this spot.
The Perfect Teide Base
What really struck me about staying here is how perfectly positioned you are for exploring Tenerife’s western coast. Santiago del Teide isn’t one of those overcrowded tourist hubs — it’s got character, with local bars where you’ll actually hear Spanish being spoken and small shops that close for siesta. You’re close enough to the dramatic coastline that you can hear the waves on quiet evenings, but far enough inland that you get those incredible mountain views. The apartment setup means you’re living like a local rather than just passing through, which I found refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter hotels.
Living Space That Works
The room itself — well, it’s more like having your own little Canarian home base. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional, with a kitchen that’s actually equipped for more than just making coffee (though the coffee setup is solid too). What I appreciated most was how everything felt intentional — the furniture, the layout, even the way the light comes in during different parts of the day. You know what really sold me? The fact that after a long day hiking around Teide National Park, this place felt like a genuine retreat rather than just somewhere to crash.
The Neighborhood Experience
Santiago del Teide has this authentic Canarian rhythm that you miss in the bigger resort towns. There’s a local restaurant just down the street where the owner remembers your order by the third visit, and the evening paseo culture is alive and well here. Parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of Tenerife — another small but crucial detail that makes your stay smoother. The town square comes alive in the evenings with locals catching up, and you’ll find yourself naturally falling into that slower, more connected pace of island life.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects something real about how this place makes people feel. Recent guests consistently highlight the location (scoring it 9.7), and after spending time here, I get it completely. It’s not just about being well-positioned geographically, though that matters. It’s about finding that sweet spot between authentic local life and comfortable accommodation, between accessibility and tranquility. You’re getting the real Tenerife experience without sacrificing comfort, and honestly, that balance is harder to find than you might think.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Tenerife at least three months ahead for major events like Carnival and summer holidays, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular beach resorts.

The view is beautiful, the apartment was very clean and had everything you needed. It is close to bars and restaurants and the natural pool of Los Gigantes. I would love to come back and stay even longer.

Steve from United Kingdom (10/10)
Very clean and tasteful. Great view over the sea. Had everything you need for a self catering holiday and close enough to restaurants and bars for the evening. Parking was never a problem although not always as close as you may like but no more than a 5 min walk.

Elisabeth from Netherlands (9/10)
Roomy, clean, great view, all the facilities that you need are included. There were very few people at the pool during our stay so it almost felt like a private thing. Lots of restaurants close by.
Richard from United Kingdom (10/10)

Diana from Spain (10/10)

Michelle from United Kingdom (10/10)
Spotlessly clean, lovely terrace which has the sun for most of the day, great shower, super comfortable bed, lots of space for clothes and plenty of hangers. We loved the location as it was very quiet yet only a short walk to restaurants, supermarkets and the marina. We also liked not having a key to the property thanks to the key pad entry system.
