Be Live Experience Orotava Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Be Live Experience Orotava, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical tourist trap hotel. The lobby has that comfortable, lived-in feel that suggests the staff actually cares about getting things right. It’s a four-star property that doesn’t try too hard to impress — instead, it focuses on the details that matter when you’re spending a week in the Canary Islands. The atmosphere strikes a balance between relaxation and attentiveness, making guests feel genuinely welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what makes this property special — it’s positioned right in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, but somehow manages to feel peaceful and removed from the hustle. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the old town’s cobblestone streets and those famous black sand beaches. The hotel sits on Aguilar y Quesada street, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is. You can actually walk to the botanical gardens without breaking a sweat, and the Lago Martiánez complex is close enough that you’ll probably end up there most afternoons. The neighborhood offers the perfect blend of accessibility and tranquility.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what I needed after long days exploring Tenerife — clean, comfortable, and with enough space to spread out properly. The balcony views vary depending on where they place you, but even the partial ocean glimpses make your morning coffee feel special. The air conditioning works exceptionally well, which is crucial during summer months, and the bathroom is modern enough without being unnecessarily flashy. You’re not here to spend time indoors anyway, but it’s reassuring knowing you have a proper retreat when you need it.
Food & Dining
The breakfast buffet is actually pretty solid — fresh fruit, local cheeses, and enough variety to keep you satisfied throughout your stay. They do a decent job with both continental options and some Spanish touches that remind you where you are. The hotel restaurant serves dinner too, though honestly, with Puerto de la Cruz’s incredible tapas scene right outside your door, you’d be missing out if you didn’t explore the local options. Still, it’s reassuring to know you have a reliable backup plan whenever you prefer dining in-house.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss or pretension. The location score speaks for itself — couples consistently rate it highly, and after staying here, the reasons become immediately clear. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the chaos to actually relax and recharge. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and there’s decent parking if you decide to rent a car and explore the island. It’s the kind of place where you can base yourself comfortably while discovering what makes Tenerife special.
Tenerife hotels keep guests close to whale-watching marinas, guachinche taverns, and starry cable car rides up Teide.

Martin from Denmark (9/10)
The hotel was located very centrally and was perfect for the purpose of my stay. The beds were very comfortable and hard which was a nice change compared to other hotel beds. I did not use my balcony much but it had a great view.
Isabela from United Kingdom (8/10)
Big, comfortable room. Lovely balcony to sit in. Lovely and helpful staff. Small but very convenient gym. Breakfast had plenty of options – overall a very nice hotel.

Paula from Finland (7/10)
Location is very good! Room is decent and beds are comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are alright at the hotel restaurant, but nothing too special. Hotel reception lady Raquel is very polite and helped us to change the room to the sunnier side of the hotel!
Berit from Estonia (7/10)
There was a large outside area with plenty of sun beds to use. The location was also great, close to a lot of restaurants and touristy streets.
Brian from United Kingdom (9/10)

despite going all inclusive there were plenty of food choices, nothing exciting but never went hungry.
Rooms were comfortable if not a little outdated…
The pool area is nice and clean but sunbeds are very uncomfortable in fact some guests were placing inflatable sunbeds on top b4 laying down.
Staff were very friendly location is very central to the town and 5 mins walk to the nearest beach, although it's the best beach, think black volcanic sand and rocks.Katarzyna from Spain (7/10)
