You know what struck me first about Your Holiday Home in El Tablado? It’s actually tucked away in this quiet residential area that most tourists never stumble across – I mean, you’re literally staying on Cirilo el Tamborilero street, which sounds way more exotic than it is, but that’s part of the charm. El Escobonal isn’t exactly where the guidebooks send you, and honestly, that’s a good thing. You get this authentic slice of southern Tenerife life without the crowds breathing down your neck.

The place itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a 3-star setup that knows what it is and doesn’t try to be something fancy. I’ve stayed in enough holiday rentals to appreciate when everything just works without any drama. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing Instagram-worthy but you’ll sleep well and the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner (trust me, I tested it). What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main tourist strips that you won’t hear drunk British lads singing at 3 AM, but close enough that you can still get to the coast when you want some beach time. The check-in was refreshingly simple too, none of that awkward small talk while you’re jet-lagged and cranky.

Here’s the thing about this area that took me a while to figure out – you’re actually in a perfect spot for exploring the real Tenerife. The locals do their shopping and live their lives around here, so you’ll find proper Spanish bars and little family-run restaurants that serve food for actual human prices. Plus, if you’re planning to do any hiking in the mountains or want to escape the tourist circus, you’re already halfway there. I mean, it’s not going to win any beauty contests with its 7.4 rating, but sometimes you just want a reliable base where you can crash after a day of exploring without feeling like you’re either slumming it or paying through the nose for marble bathrooms you don’t need. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which is either exactly what you’re looking for or completely wrong – depends on your travel style, I guess.

  What could be improved: Fumes from the dryer downstairs enter the apartment. Every sound made in the lower unit are heard. Location was a poor choice on my part. Lack of a car was a problem.

  La cucina è ciò che abbiamo apprezzato di più in quanto accessoriata di tutto il necessario per poter gustare l'ottimo pesce di quest'isola che ormai conosciamo da anni. La posizione è comoda per visitare in circa 30 minuti sia il sudest che il sudovest dell'isola. In più è praticamente sul mare , quindi piacevole vista dell'oceano. La struttura l'abbiamo trovata pulita ed accogliente.
  
  What could be improved: Purtroppo non è ben insonorizzata il che vuol dire che nei giorni infrasettimanali ci si sveglia al mattino alle 6 in punto con la ripresa delle attività dei vicini. Il letto non è comodissimo per 2 persone . La TV non è funzionante e per chi come me, vuole immergersi nella pratica dell'ascolto dello spagnolo anche attraverso i programmi televisivi locali, può rappresentare un ostacolo all'apprendimento della lingua. Non abbiamo potuto usufruire del Wifi perché non funzionava ma sono sicuro che verrà ripristinato.

  Apartamento amplio, en zona muy tranquila, cerca del mar y tiene todo lo necesario para estar cómodo.

• Tolle Wohnung mit ausreichend Platz und einem kleinen Balkon + Dachterasse von denen aus man direkt auf das Meer schauen – Pia from Germany – 9 November 2024 (10/10)

  Die Lage der Wohnung ist super in einem kleinen Ort direkt am Wasser und direkt an der Autobahn, also perfekt zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation war super und wir haben noch viele Tipps bekommen.

  Enkelt att hitta fram, smidigt incheckning! Bodde nästan som hemma! Nära är jättefina badmöjligheter! Motorvägen i närheten hörs nästan inte..däremot räkna med lokal folket känns högljudda ibland… Värdinna är jätte hjälpsam och svarar snabbt.
