I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to the White House in San Miguel de Abona, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away on Calle Fairway Village, which (as you might guess from the street name) puts you right in the heart of Golf del Sur. The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me – far enough from the tourist chaos of Los Cristianos but close enough that you can still hit the main strips when you want to.

The hotel itself has this clean, modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy. You know what I mean? It’s got that 4-star polish without the stuffy atmosphere. The rooms are actually well thought out – decent size, good air conditioning (which you’ll appreciate in summer), and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with a crick in my neck. What really got me was the attention to smaller details… like having enough power outlets near the bed and proper blackout curtains that actually block the light. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure things ran smoothly, and check-in was refreshingly quick – none of that standing around for twenty minutes while they “find your reservation” nonsense.

Here’s the thing about this part of Tenerife that most people don’t realize – San Miguel de Abona is where you go when you want to feel like you’re actually in the Canary Islands, not just another beach resort. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to some really solid local restaurants (there’s this little place about ten minutes away that does incredible papas arrugadas), and the coastline here is way less crowded than what you’ll find up north. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any weird surprises. Parking is easy, the wifi actually works throughout the building, and honestly, the whole place just feels… reliable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to unwind. If you’re planning to explore the island – and you should, because there’s so much more to Tenerife than just the beaches – this makes for a solid home base without breaking the bank.

  We loved absolutely everything there. The owners are beautiful people and very welcoming. The location is absolutely perfect everything is close to it. The bus stop is just about 2minutes walk and the restaurants and shops about 10minutes walk. It is very quiet area (except the landing planes but we didn't mind) we are going nearly every year to tenerife and this was our first stay at Piro house but we definitely know that we will come back again. I will not look for anything else. And I can't forget to mention the beautiful view from the balcony.

  Cute little apartment to stay in close to the airport for the last night of our trip.
  The apartment itself was clean and perfect for two people for a short stay!
  We didn't use the pool so couldn't comment on that.

  Beautiful apartment, although small, has everything you could need. Lovely little balcony which gets plenty of sun and a pool view. Pool area is good with 3 pools to choose from and plenty of sun beds. Around 10/15 minute walk to the nearest bars/restaurants/supermarket. Easy instructions from the owner for entering the property. Would definitely stay here again.
