Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to VV_CMBAJAMAR on Carretera General de Bajamar, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The address sounds pretty ordinary, right? But you know what hit me first? The sound. Not traffic noise like you’d think from being on a main road, but this constant, rhythmic crash of waves that instantly made my shoulders drop about three inches.

Bajamar isn’t one of those touristy Tenerife spots everyone talks about – it’s actually this small coastal town where locals still outnumber visitors, and honestly, that’s exactly why this place works so well. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you’re literally a two-minute walk from those famous natural pools (the ones carved right into the volcanic rock), but you’re not dealing with the crowds you’d find in Puerto de la Cruz or Los Cristianos. I mean, I could walk out in the morning and have my pick of spots to sit and watch the Atlantic do its thing. The pools fill up naturally with each tide, and watching that happen while having coffee – well, it’s sort of mesmerizing in a way that surprised me.

What really sold me on this place though was the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. The staff actually remembers your name (not just your room number), and they’ll casually mention that the weather’s supposed to turn around lunchtime, or that the local fish market has something special that morning. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable, good shower pressure – but it’s the little things that stick with you. Like how they stock local honey at breakfast instead of those generic packets, or how the balcony doors actually seal properly so you can sleep with the windows open without waking up to sand on everything.

The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you spend some time here. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious. Instead, it just does everything right in a way that feels effortless. Parking’s easy (which, trust me, matters more than you think in this part of Tenerife), the wifi actually works throughout the building, and check-in was probably the smoothest I’ve experienced anywhere. The location on Carretera General might sound busy, but it’s actually perfect – you’re connected to everything without being in the thick of tourist chaos. Plus, if you’re planning to explore the northern part of the island, you’re positioned really well for day trips to places like Garachico or even the Anaga mountains.

I guess what I’m trying to say is this: if you want that authentic Canarian coast experience without sacrificing comfort, and you prefer discovering places that feel more like local secrets than Instagram hotspots, VV_CMBAJAMAR gets it right. Just don’t expect a resort-style pool scene – the real attraction here is stepping outside and having the entire dramatic coastline as your backyard.

  The flat is very spacious, bright and clean! Very well equipped, so we had everything we need for our stay! The owner is super nice and helpful! Would come back again!

  Very clean and pleasantly furnished apartment with a beautiful view of the mountains. In the apartment you will find everything you need to live, even for a longer period of time. The hosts took care of all the details, from water, snacks and fruit upon arrival, through extra towels, to laundry detergent and fabric softener. The kitchen is very well equipped, including dishwashing liquid and sponges and extra garbage bags. For movie lovers, there is access to Netflix on TV. The hosts stayed in constant contact with us via Whatsapp. When you come to Raico and Cristian's apartment you really don't have to worry about anything. We felt in the apartment like in a combination of home and a five-star hotel 🙂
  The town of Bajamar itself is a very good location for both beachgoers and hikers. A three-minute walk from the apartment there is a sheltered beach and free swimming pools with ocean water. Bajamar has direct bus connections to La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and in Las Canteras you can change to buses going to the Anaga Mountains.
  We recommend both the town itself and the VV_CMBAJAMAR apartment to everyone who wants to experience Tenerife in peace and away from crowded resorts.

  Large places for sleep: a big bed and an unfoldable couch. The flat has everything I could need. It's nice that the owner prepared a pdf guide and left some snacks, just a pleasant experience. The view from the balcony.

  Great place! Just a 5-minute walk to the sea. Everything was clean and comfortable. The host was very attentive and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside is the road right outside the windows, which can be noisy on weekday mornings around 9 AM.

  Apartamento súper limpio y con todo lo necesario para la estancia. Caminando y a menos de 5 minutos está la playa, las piscinas, restaurantes, supermercado… Suele ser fácil aparcar cerca del alojamiento y hay una gasolinera enfrente. Anfitrión súper atento.
  
  What could be improved: Aunque para nosotros no fue un problema, x si fuese de utilidad para alguien: el edificio está al lado de la carretera principal y se escucha algo el tráfico; el apartamento está en un tercer piso sin ascensor.

  Квартира знаходиться у неймовірно затишному маленькому містечку. З вікна видно гори і це дуже гарно. В 5 хв ходьби океан, де є пляж та природний басейн. В цілому є все необхідне для комфортного перебування – я прожила тут цілий місяць. Rayco дуже уважний та дбайливий господар, оперативно відповідав на всі мої питання. Дякую за гостинність ☺️

  – відсутність ліфта (прийшлося валізу на 3 поверх нести)
  – в містечку всього 2 маленьких супермаркети, де вибір обмежений, а ціни дорожчі
