Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Vivienda Vacacional Vaiana on that winding stretch of TF-652, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean, it’s tucked away in Las Rosas, which isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, but that’s actually what makes this place special. The setting is absolutely gorgeous – you’re right in the heart of Tenerife’s lush northern region, surrounded by these incredible laurel forests that most visitors never even know exist.

What really struck me about Vaiana (and yeah, they definitely went with the Disney name thing, but whatever) is how genuine it feels. The owners clearly live and breathe this place – you can tell from the way they’ve arranged everything, from the local artwork on the walls to the way they stock the kitchen with actual useful stuff, not just the bare minimum. The accommodation itself is spotless and thoughtfully designed, with these lovely traditional touches that feel authentic rather than touristy. You know what I loved? The windows. Sounds weird, but they frame the mountain views perfectly, and in the morning you wake up to this incredible green landscape that changes completely depending on the weather rolling in from the coast.

The location is honestly brilliant if you want to experience the real Tenerife. Las Rosas sits right between the Anaga mountains and the coast, so you’re maybe fifteen minutes from some of the island’s best hiking trails – I’m talking about paths that lead through ancient forests where you’ll hear nothing but birds and your own footsteps. But you’re also close enough to Santa Cruz that you can easily head down for dinner or supplies without feeling like you’re making a major expedition. Parking is never an issue here (trust me, that’s a big deal in the Canary Islands), and the road up is perfectly fine – I’ve seen some vacation rentals where you need a 4×4 just to reach the front door.

The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not fancy in that glossy resort way, but everything works exactly as it should, and the level of care is obvious in all the small details. The WiFi actually works well enough for video calls, the shower has proper pressure, and they’ve clearly thought about what travelers actually need rather than just what looks good in photos. I mean, there are quality coffee supplies, decent cookware, and enough outdoor space to really relax. The only minor thing – and this is being picky – is that it can get a bit cool in the evenings, especially in winter, but there’s good heating and extra blankets.

This is the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay if you can. It’s perfect for couples who want to explore the island’s natural side, or honestly anyone who’s tired of the typical beach resort experience. You’re getting authentic Canary Islands living with all the comfort you need, and the hosts genuinely care about making sure you have a great time. Plus, at three stars, you’re getting way more value than you’d expect – it feels more like a well-run boutique place than a standard vacation rental.

  Very nice and bright, cosy. Very well equipped.
  It even has a washing machine and a dishwasher.
  The double bed was comfortable. The sofa bed was ok. Nice terrace to sit out. The price to stay was reasonable.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing to fault in the apartment.
  It's a bit of a walk (20 minutes to the town of Costa Silencio ) or Las Galettas. Its better to have a car if you are not able to walk. But still manageable. Had a car so it was even better.

  Location is great if you have a car, exactly what we where looking for as we are not fans of city beaches, we always travel to more secluded with beautiful view beaches. Very Quick Access to Motorway, enough on Street parking. Apartment itself was very spacious, clean. Not much daylight in kitchen and bedroom area, but that didn't bother us, nice LED light strip around the flat which made it nice and bright and in the evening we could turn it into very romantic place by changing the colour and lighting some candles. Apartment is very well equipped.

  Our host was great and attentive, the place was beautiful. Parking was available very closeby, as well as a tiny supermarket. Super close to the airport, what made the departure very stress free.

  Lovely place full of beautiful details, especially I like stone lamps. Matteo met us and showed around this tiny house. We were able to wash our clothes, take rest after long trip and cook our fav dishes. Parking nearby, supermarket 5 mins drive, beach 5 mins drive, 1 hour to Teide cable car.
