Viv Vac La Casita del Viejo Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Viv Vac La Casita del Viejo, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the address — Diseminado la Crucita sounds pretty remote, right? But you know what, that’s exactly what makes this place special. This four-star property sits in this wonderfully quiet spot in Guía de Isora, and I mean quiet in the best possible way. The building itself has this charming, authentic Canarian feel that immediately tells you you’re somewhere genuinely local, not some cookie-cutter resort.

Location & Surroundings

The location is actually brilliant — I get why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re tucked away from the tourist crowds but still close enough to explore the southwestern coast of Tenerife when you want to. The views from here are something else, especially if you catch the sunset (and trust me, you’ll want to). What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know all the best local spots — they pointed me toward this incredible little coastal path that most visitors never find.

The Accommodation

My room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with those traditional Canarian touches that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-loved home rather than a hotel. The beds are genuinely comfortable — I’m pretty picky about mattresses, and I slept like a baby here. There’s this lovely terrace area where you can sit with your morning coffee, and honestly, some mornings I just stayed there for ages watching the landscape wake up. The bathrooms are modern but keep that rustic charm, which is a nice balance.

Dining & Amenities

The restaurant serves up proper Canarian cuisine — none of that watered-down tourist stuff. I had this incredible papas arrugadas with mojo sauce that was probably the best I’ve had on the island, and I’ve tried quite a few. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and they source a lot of ingredients locally, which you can definitely taste. There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area where you can dine under the stars, which feels pretty magical on a clear night. Parking is straightforward and free, which is always a relief when you’re exploring the island by car.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the kind of place where you’ll find flashy amenities or a massive pool complex — and that’s precisely the point. What you get instead is this authentic, peaceful experience that feels genuinely Canarian. The staff treats you like family (in the best way), the setting is absolutely beautiful, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve discovered something special. It’s particularly perfect for couples who want to escape the busier resort areas but still enjoy excellent service and comfort. The 8.8 rating really reflects what you experience here — it’s just a place that gets the fundamentals right and adds that extra touch of local character.
