Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Vistas al mirador y al mar 5 on Calle Haya, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unpretentious packages. This little spot absolutely nailed it, and that 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there.

The location is what really got me – you’re literally a stone’s throw from the mirador (that’s the viewpoint for those who don’t speak Spanish), and I mean you can actually see both the lookout point and the ocean from here. Puerto de la Cruz isn’t huge, but being on Calle Haya puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk everywhere but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I spent way too much time just hanging out on the terrace in the mornings with my coffee, watching the locals head to work while cruise ship passengers were still figuring out where they were. The street itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few small shops – so you get that authentic neighborhood feel without sacrificing convenience.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the place. Check-in was smooth (they actually remembered my name the next day, which honestly never happens), and when I mentioned I was looking for good hiking spots, the guy at the front desk spent like ten minutes drawing me a hand-sketched map to some trails most tourists never find. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some supposedly upscale places I’ve stayed. The AC actually cools the room, the shower has decent water pressure, and the bed doesn’t make weird noises when you move around at night. Sometimes that’s all you need, you know? Plus, the views from the upper floors are genuinely spectacular – I kept catching myself just staring out the window at the coastline, especially around sunset when the light hits the water just right. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the walls aren’t super thick, so if you get stuck next to a family with small kids, you might hear more than you’d like – but that’s pretty typical for older buildings in this area, and it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me.

  We stayed at these apartments in January 2025. They are well equipped spotlessly clean and in an area which has plenty shop's and bars. Just away from the main area of Puerto de la cruz but is within walking distance or a short taxi or bus ride. The views from the apartments and viewpoints are amazing of Teide and surrounding areas. The rooftop area is peaceful, and there are washing machines and drying areas if you require. All in all, lovely apartments ☺️

  Comunicación fácil con el host, explicaciones claras. Muy fácil acceder al apartamento, que estaba muy limpito y ordenado. Balconcito agradable, azotea top y vistas buenísimas, tanto desde el apartamento como desde la azotea. Detalles monos: ofrecen lavadora con detergente y hay tendedero tanto en azotea como en apartamento. Hay una fuente de agua filtrada fría donde puedes rellenar tus botellas. Te dan un regalito al llegar. Dormitorio grande y cama muy cómoda. Respecto a la zona, lo mejor es el jardín botánico que está al lado y el mirador.

  Modern en net appartement van alle gemakken voorzien en fijne woon en slaapkamer. Appartement ligt net boven het centrum maar is doormiddel van trappen goed te bereiken. Prachtig uitzicht over de zee vanuit het balkon en het dakterras.

  Por mi parte la ubicación me gusto, el apartamento esta genial muy limpio la atención y comunicacion por parte del anfitrión muy bien. En la misma zona hay pastelería, pizzería, cervecería, supermercado y a pocos minutos de caminata el centro comercial.
  Es fácil encontrar aparcamiento en la zona.

  Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral,deshalb auch bis 24:00 Uhr etwas lauter.
  Eine wunderschöne Dach Terrasse mit Rundblick auf das Meer und den Teide .
  Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und immer hilfsbereit.

  Tolles Apartment,sauber,gut ausgestattet. Das Einchecken läuft einwandfrei. Lage perfekt, Supermärkte um die Ecke, Altstadt in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß oder per Bus zu erreichen.
