Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Vistas al mirador y al mar 3? The name actually tells you exactly what you’re getting – and that’s refreshing in a world where hotel names usually mean nothing. When I first walked up Calle Castaño (it’s this narrow street that locals use as a shortcut to avoid the main tourist drag), I wasn’t expecting much from what looks like a pretty modest building. But honestly, the moment you step inside and see those views, you get it.
The thing about Puerto de la Cruz is that everyone talks about the beaches and the historic center, but the real magic happens when you’re up just high enough to see how the whole town fits together against the Atlantic. From this place, you can actually watch the weather roll in from the ocean – I mean, you’ll see these massive cloud formations building up over the water while you’re having your morning coffee. The mirador they’re talking about in the name isn’t some tourist trap viewpoint; it’s this local spot where people from the neighborhood actually go to walk their dogs and catch up with each other. Being right there puts you in the rhythm of how the town really works, not just the postcard version.
What impressed me most (and I’ve stayed in plenty of 3-star places that felt like they were phoning it in) is how thoughtfully everything’s set up. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is an older building in a historic part of town, so you’re not getting resort-style space – but whoever designed the layout really understood what matters. The windows are positioned so you’re not just looking at views, you’re living with them. And the sound situation is actually pretty perfect; you’re close enough to hear the ocean but far enough from the main tourist streets that you won’t have groups of people walking by at all hours talking loudly about their dinner plans.
The location really works if you know anything about Puerto de la Cruz. You’re about a ten-minute walk from Playa Jardín (which, honestly, is better than the more famous beaches anyway), but you’re also close to those little family-run restaurants up in the residential areas where locals actually eat. There’s this bakery about two blocks away that opens at 6 AM, and the coffee there is better than anything you’ll find in the hotel zone. Parking can be a bit tricky – the streets here weren’t designed for cars, obviously – but there’s usually space if you’re willing to walk a few minutes.
Look, a 9.7 rating sounds almost too good to be true, but after staying here, I get why people are rating it so highly. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – no fake luxury touches or over-the-top amenities. Instead, it just does the important stuff really well: great views, comfortable rooms, and a location that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing Puerto de la Cruz rather than just visiting it. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a place to stay.

The location between the mirador and the chapel is pleasant. Quiet during nighthours and a close walk to bars and restaurants. So happy with the freshwaterpump in the corridor, It saved us many heavy walks from the supermarket. We are also pleased with the washingmachine on the top floor.

Čistý, pohodlný byt. Vše odpovídalo popisu. Hezký výhled z balkonu na moře, hezké okolí. Úžasná terasa s výhledem na moře a na sopku Teide. Byli jsme spokojeni.
