Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to VISTAMaR ANATOLIA on Calle Hermanos Fernández Perdigón, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unpretentious packages. This little gem sits right in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, and I mean properly in the heart – you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the main plaza and even closer to some of the best local tapas bars that most tourists never find. The street itself is actually pretty quiet for being so central, which honestly surprised me because Puerto can get pretty lively, especially during festival season.

What really got me about this place was how the staff seemed to actually care about making your stay work. I mean, check-in was smooth (no standing around for twenty minutes like some places), and the woman at reception – I think her name was Carmen – knew exactly which restaurants to avoid and which ones the locals actually eat at. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re clean and comfortable, and here’s the thing that matters: the beds are actually good. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places where you wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night. The bathroom was compact but functional, decent water pressure, and the shower actually stayed hot – you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in older buildings around here.

The location is really what seals it though. You’re close enough to the old town that you can stumble back after a few drinks at the local bars, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with crowds of cruise ship passengers every morning. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks down that opens early if you’re the type who likes proper coffee and pastries before the day gets going. And if you want to hit the beach, Playa Jardín is maybe a ten-minute walk – not the closest you could be, but close enough that you’re not planning your whole day around getting there. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season (aren’t we all tired of that story?), but the hotel staff will point you toward the municipal lot that’s reasonably priced and safe. The 8.8 rating this place has? Yeah, I get it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re exploring a place like Puerto de la Cruz.

  In the apartment, I felt like at home. Very nice and clean. Proximity to bus station and beautiful beach with a garden (but beach is closed now due to water pollution, you can't sweam where).
  And the balcony view was amazing!

  The apartment was spotless and had the most amazing view on the ocean from the balcony.

  Alain, the property manager sent me very clear instructions upon arrival and was available until I made my was to the apartment, even though I arrived pretty late. He was also fast to respond during my stay if I had any questions.

  The apartment has (as advertised) a sea view, a (small) balcony, parking & WiFi. It was very clean. Nice to have some refreshments in the fridge on arrival (though they were not chilled).
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is advertised as having a bedroom. It does not. It is a very small studio. The photos give the impression there is a sofa as well as the bed/s. There is not. It is a sofa bed (the like we've not come across before) & once the bed is set up there is not much floor space in the 'living' area (& you wouldn't bother setting it up each night & then making it a sofa during the day, too time consuming & fiddly). The bathroom space is very small too with it having a washing machine in it (I'm sure other guests appreciate having a washing machine, but for a short stay I would not use it & it's just in the way). Also, the shower curtain is not long enough, though attempts have been made to lower it further into the bath area. The fridge/freezer is noisy when set on a temperature to chill the contents, we turned it off a few hours each night even though we had goods in it.

  Очень чисто, прекрасный вид (лучше, чем на фото), есть все-все необходимое для жизни, не надо ничего докупать (кроме продуктов), хорошая связь с хозяевами по любым вопросам, очень подробная инструкция по бесконтактному доступу в квартиру
