Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Puerto de la Cruz, and Vista Paraíso by TOR actually surprised me in the best way possible. The name might sound a bit fancy, but honestly, it delivers on that promise without being pretentious about it. It’s tucked right on Avenida Venezuela – and if you know Puerto de la Cruz at all, you know that puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Playa Jardín in about ten minutes, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with street noise until 3 AM.
The thing that struck me first was how the staff actually seemed to know the town. I mean, when I asked about getting to the natural pools at Charco del Viento (which most tourists never hear about), the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he sketched out the actual walking route and told me the best time to go when it’s not crowded. That’s the kind of local knowledge you don’t usually get at chain hotels. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but it’s the details that matter. The balcony views – well, if you get one facing south, you’ll understand why they called it “paraíso.” You can actually see Teide on clear days, and the sunsets are honestly ridiculous. The AC works properly (crucial in summer), and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed back ache.
What really sold me was the location’s practicality. You’re a five-minute walk from that little supermarket on Calle Cologan where locals actually shop, not the tourist-priced places near the beach. The bus stop for the 103 to Santa Cruz is right there if you want to explore beyond Puerto de la Cruz, and – this is key – there’s actual parking nearby if you’ve rented a car. I’ve learned the hard way that parking in Puerto de la Cruz can be a nightmare, especially during Carnaval season. The breakfast situation is decent, nothing groundbreaking but proper coffee and fresh fruit, which is all I really need to get moving. You know what I appreciated most though? The lobby doesn’t feel like a showroom. People actually hang out there in the evenings, and there’s this relaxed vibe where you might end up chatting with other travelers about hiking trails or where to find the best tapas. It’s that kind of place where the 8.5 rating makes perfect sense – not because everything is flawless, but because the things that matter most are done really well.

It’s a spacious apartment, and the stay was comfortable, equipped with everything you need. The balcony was also a plus, it has a beautiful view.
What could be improved: I didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t have parking. It’s very hard to find a spot to leave your car in the area. We even searched much farther away, and it was still quite difficult to find a place. Amazing views on the ocean and picturesque landscape! In the apartment you can find everything you need, including washing machine. On the first floor very good swimming pool with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers included in the price.
Highly recommend it especially for views!
What could be improved: Due to extremely high temperatures on Tenerife it was really hot inside. Couldn`t sleep well:(

Cozy and comfortable apartment with amazing view from the balcony. A lot of elevators in the building. Swimming pool, Wi-Fi was stable. Big free parking in 20 minutes walking. Some groceries, shops and restaurants nearby. Martians swimming pools are 5 min walking

Great location. Really nice view. We’ll-equipped overall and secure. Bed very comfortable.
What could be improved: Not that I didn’t like, per se, but a kettle would have been good and some extra beach towels.
Main issues were how our check-in was handled. Mixed messages, confused phone calls, and inconsistent. Basically, I think the member of staff was muddled but after being up since 2.45am to travel to Tenerife, we could have done without this at 5.00pm when we arrived at the apartment. Also, we were called a day before check-out saying our leaving day was 24/11 – not 25/11. The member of staff never called back after saying she would.
