You know what struck me first about Villa Syrah? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet little street – Calle de la Lancha – that most tourists never find, even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from Puerto de la Cruz’s main drag. I mean, you can hear the ocean from your room, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of the waterfront hotels where cruise ship passengers pile off buses at 7 AM. The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – it’s not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but everything feels thoughtfully done. The lobby smells like fresh flowers (they actually change them regularly, not just when they’re dying), and honestly, the check-in process was refreshingly smooth. No upselling, no lengthy explanations of amenities you’ll never use.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed the details without making a big deal about it. The rooms are genuinely spacious – and I’m talking about European hotel standards here, where “spacious” usually means you can open your suitcase without hitting the bed. The bathrooms have actual water pressure, which… look, if you’ve stayed in older Spanish hotels, you know this isn’t guaranteed. From most rooms you get these glimpses of the Atlantic through the buildings, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a higher floor, the sunset views are pretty spectacular. The area itself is perfect for people who want to be close to everything but not in the thick of tourist madness – there’s this excellent little tapas place called Casa Blanca just around the corner that locals actually go to, and the botanical gardens are maybe a ten-minute walk if you’re feeling ambitious.

Here’s the thing though – and this is why Villa Syrah has that 9.6 rating – it’s the kind of place that just works. The staff genuinely seems to care about whether you’re having a good time, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes, and the neighborhood is safe enough that you can wander around at night without constantly checking over your shoulder. Puerto de la Cruz can get pretty busy during peak season (avoid February if you hate crowds), but even then, this little pocket stays relatively peaceful. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be a bit tricky – there’s street parking but it fills up, so maybe factor that in if you’re renting a car. But honestly, you’re so well-positioned here that you might not even need one. It’s one of those places where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like too much effort.

  What's not to like. The villa is absolutely stunning and has everything you could need or want while on holiday.
  
  Excellent communication which was always prompt and helpful, no question was too much and often followed up with additional information and help.
  
  Then we move onto the villa itself. Wow, wow, wow.
  
  I'll start with the kitchen which has everything you need to feed 1 or 15. I'm now searching to buy the hob and oven. Cookings a pleasure and everything is withing reach when needed. Several dining areas inside and out with the outside table being lovely in the shade.
  
  Downstairs highlights are the huge garage, games room with pool table which we all loved and a fantastic gym.
  
  The main livingroom looks out onto the pool and has a nice sound system to connect your phone too. The pool itself is also excellent. Deep and deeper and we opted to have it heated which we would recommend. Next time I'm bringing an inflatable duck 😂
  
  Bedrooms a plenty and the master suite is just devine. Hot tub, dressing room, balcony and what a view. The sea at night as you relax on the balcony is just bliss.
  
  I could wax lyrical about this property and it's hosts for days. Nothing is missing and now I have three families wanting to come back with me.
  
  Great location in the north for a stress free and peaceful base. Loro Park on the doorstep and Lidl 2 min drive.

  Very large villa in a quiet location on the edge of Puerto de la Cruz. We were 3 couples, so only used 3 of the 6 bedrooms. There were 3 sitting rooms and a lovely area outside by the pool and to the side of the villa. Plenty of space would suit several families with kids. We had hired cars, plenty of space in garage for 3 cars. What we didn’t realise was how hard it is to park in most Tenerife towns, so being able to walk from the villa into Puerto De La Cruz was a big bonus. Lovely places to eat very close by as well as a short walk to central Puerto De La Cruz. The villa was very well equipped and any queries were answered very quickly. Highly recommended a lovely villa with a lovely outlook. There is a small baseball pitch next to the villa, but don’t let that put you off, during the day on Saturday & Sunday we did hear some music from it, but not at all disturbing, nothing during the week, and very quiet at night.

  La amplitud de la casa, la cocina bien equipada. Tenía un poco de todo el salón con equipos de sonido en la parte de abajo billar y futbolín y en la terraza una piscina climatizada y la posibilidad de comer al aire libre. Asimismo, una barbacoa que utilizamos y que resultó muy divertido
