Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Villa Oasis? The name actually fits – and that’s rarer than you’d think with vacation rentals. I mean, when you’re driving down Calle Tinguafaya in Chayofa (which is this quiet residential area between Los Cristianos and Las Américas, if you’re trying to place it), you pass all these typical Canarian houses, and then there’s this one that just… well, it makes you slow down and double-check the address. The whole place has this Mediterranean villa vibe that feels more expensive than it probably is, honestly. And that private pool? It’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned so you get sun most of the day without feeling like you’re on display for the neighbors.
What I really loved about staying here was how it manages to feel both secluded and connected at the same time. Chayofa itself is one of those spots that locals know but tourists often miss – you’re maybe ten minutes from the beach chaos of Playa de las Américas, but the area has this residential calm that’s perfect when you want to actually relax. The house sits on this slightly elevated plot, so from the terrace (especially in the evening with a drink), you get these glimpses of the ocean between the palm trees and rooftops. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your time – there’s something about having your own private water when it’s 28 degrees outside that just hits different than fighting for a lounger at some resort. I actually found myself swimming at weird hours, like 7 AM with my coffee or late at night after dinner, just because I could.
The interior feels like someone actually lives here rather than just renting it out – proper kitchen with decent knives, comfortable beds that don’t feel like they came from a budget hotel catalog, and WiFi that actually works when you need to upload those pool photos. Parking’s right there (which matters more than you think when you’re hauling groceries and beach gear), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. Look, it’s not perfect – the shower pressure could be better, and you’ll hear the occasional dog barking from neighboring houses – but honestly, those are the kind of minor things that remind you you’re staying in a real neighborhood, not some sterile vacation bubble. That 9.5 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting a whole house with a private pool for what you’d probably pay for a decent hotel room in the tourist areas. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your morning coffee by your own pool while planning whether to hit Siam Park or just stay put for another lazy day.
