Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in the Canary Islands, but Villa Moritz honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know when you book somewhere and just hope it lives up to the photos? Well, this place actually exceeded them. It’s tucked away on Calle Vista Paraíso in Santa Úrsula – and yeah, the street name literally means “Paradise View,” which I thought was just typical Spanish marketing until I saw the actual vista from their terrace. The thing is, most tourists rush straight to the southern beaches, but this spot on Tenerife’s north coast? It’s where you get those dramatic volcanic landscapes meeting the Atlantic without fighting crowds for a decent photo.

The property itself feels more like a boutique hideaway than your typical 4-star hotel. I mean, that 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated reviews – the attention to detail is genuinely impressive. The rooms have this clean, modern aesthetic but with enough local character that you’re not wondering if you’re in Spain or Sweden. What really got me was the breakfast setup on the terrace – you’re literally eating with Mount Teide looming in the distance while listening to waves crash below. The owner (I think his name was Carlos?) actually grows some of the herbs they use in the kitchen right there on the property, which sounds gimmicky but honestly makes the morning coffee situation pretty special. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s a dedicated area that doesn’t require the usual Tetris-level maneuvering you get at most Canarian hotels.

Here’s what I’d tell anyone considering this place: if you’re looking for a massive resort with waterslides and animation teams, keep scrolling. But if you want somewhere that feels like a well-kept secret where you can actually relax and explore the real Tenerife, Villa Moritz hits that sweet spot. Santa Úrsula itself is perfectly positioned – you can drive to the Anaga mountains for hiking in twenty minutes, or head down to Puerto de la Cruz for the nightlife without feeling like you’re staying in tourist central. The hotel gets busy during German vacation season (July-August), but even then it never felt chaotic. Actually, I’d recommend going in shoulder season if you can – the weather’s still gorgeous, and you’ll have those sunset views from the terrace mostly to yourself.

  Kathrin is a very kind host, communication is good with her, she answered all our questions immediately. The villa is in a great location, quiet, the view is wonderful on the Teide and the ocean. Impeccably equipped, it really is like in the pictures. The BBQ oven on the terrace is very professional, we prepared great dishes on it.

  Die Villa liegt zwar direkt an der Autobahn, aber dadurch, dass es diese Höhenunterschiede zwischen Straße und Villa gibt, hört man die Geräusche nur wenig. Daher Anbindung in alle Richtungen perfekt.👌

  Die Unterkunft war einfach perfekt! Die Lage war ideal, ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto und man war im nächsten Ort und konnte in einem super Restaurant essen, dass uns vom Gastgeber empfohlen wurde. Ansonsten hat man auch alles gut erreicht! Von der angrenzenden Autobahn hört man überhaupt nichts. Die Ausstattung war toll und es gab sogar ein Team, dass den Pool in der Zeit gereinigt hätte, wenn’s notwendig gewesen wäre.
  Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!
