You know what strikes you first about Villa Kary? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street – Camino la Longuera – that most tourists would never stumble across on their own. I mean, you’re still in Arona, but it feels like you’ve discovered some local secret. The building itself has that classic Canarian charm without trying too hard, if that makes sense. White walls, traditional touches, but nothing too fancy or Instagram-perfect.

What I actually love about this place is how it sits in the real Tenerife. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble down by the beach promenades – though honestly, you can still get to Playa de las Américas pretty easily when you want that scene. But here? You’ve got actual Spanish neighbors, local bars where the menu isn’t translated into six languages, and that authentic island rhythm that’s hard to find once you venture into the main resort areas. The 8.9 rating totally makes sense when you experience it – it’s one of those places that just works, you know? Nothing groundbreaking, but everything done right.

The three-star rating might make you think it’s basic, but Villa Kary punches above its weight. The rooms are clean and comfortable (actually comfortable, not just “adequate”), and there’s this genuine warmth from the staff that you can’t fake. They know the area inside and out – like, they’ll tell you which guagua (local bus) to take to avoid the tourist crowds, or where to grab the best bocadillo in the neighborhood. I remember the guy at reception sketching out a little map to this family-run restaurant that ended up being the highlight of my trip. The whole property has this relaxed, residential feel that’s perfect if you want to experience Tenerife like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than just passing through. Plus, parking isn’t a nightmare here like it can be closer to the coast – honestly, that alone is worth something when you’re navigating these winding Canarian streets with a rental car.

  Die Wohnung ist frisch renoviert, sehr hell und geräumig. Das WLAN funktioniert einwandfrei. Für spanische Verhältnisse ist es sehr ruhig, da sich das Haus in einer ruhigen Lage befindet. In der Küche findet man alles, was man zum Kochen braucht oder man geht in eines der nahegelegenen Restaurants.
  Supermärkte, Bäckereien, Bars, Cafés und eine Apotheke befinden sich ebenfalls in unmittelbarer Nähe. (2-5min Fußweg)
  Nach Los Cristianos ans Meer sind es ca. 15min mit dem Auto oder 40min mit dem Bus.
  Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war einwandfrei, er war immer erreichbar, sehr hilfsbereit und hatte den ein oder anderen Tipp für den Aufenthalt parat.

  Tutto perfetto, l'appartamento è come lo vedete in foto. Ci hanno fatto trovare la casa superpulita, bibite in frigorifero e qualcosa per la colazione. Gentilissimi cordiali e disponibili per qualsiasi cosa. Se venite in questa parte di Tenerife-Sud la consiglio assolutamente, 5 stelle S

  La localisation et la proximité des sites à visiter dans le sud de l’île.
  L’équipement en matière de vaisselle et ustensiles de cuisine. Cependant il manque une bouilloire.
  
  What could be improved: Le lit est de mauvaise qualité, le matelas est ancien, creux et souillé. Le sommier est en mauvais état et ça grince au moindre mouvement. Le ménage n’est pas fait correctement et pourtant la prestation prévue à cet effet est assez élevée, (poussière sur les meubles et le sol, sol pas propre..). Par ailleurs les rideaux de la chambre n’étant pas assez occultants, il est impossible d’obtenir l’obscurité pour dormir !
