You know what caught me off guard about Villa de la Huerta? The name literally translates to “orchard villa,” and honestly, it delivers on that promise in ways I wasn’t expecting. This place sits on Calle la Raya in Güimar – which, if you’re not familiar with this part of Tenerife, is actually one of those spots where locals still outnumber tourists. The villa itself feels like someone’s well-loved family home that just happens to have been designed perfectly for visitors. I mean, the private pool area is tucked away in this gorgeous courtyard where you can hear the distant sounds of the neighborhood kids playing in the afternoons, but it’s private enough that you feel like you’ve discovered your own little slice of Canarian life.

The barbacoa (barbecue area) is where this place really shines – it’s not just some afterthought patio setup but a proper outdoor kitchen situation where you can actually cook those amazing local fish you’ll find at the Güimar market. Speaking of which, the market is maybe a ten-minute walk down the hill, and there’s this vendor who sells the most incredible papas arrugadas on Thursdays… but I digress. The villa’s kitchen connects seamlessly to the outdoor space, which makes sense when you realize how much time you’ll actually spend outside here. The weather in Güimar is sort of perfect – it’s far enough from the tourist madness of the south coast but still gets that reliable Canarian sunshine. I found myself using the pool at weird times, like early morning with coffee or late evening when the temperature finally drops just enough to make the water feel refreshing instead of necessary.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a week. The wifi actually works throughout the property (even by the pool, which – let’s be real – is where you’ll end up taking most of your calls home). There’s proper parking, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife’s narrow streets will appreciate, and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. The villa sleeps enough people that you could bring a small group, but it’s laid out in a way that doesn’t feel cramped or overly communal if you need some space. Honestly, with that 8.9 rating, I was expecting maybe some hidden catches, but the few minor issues I noticed – like the outdoor shower taking a minute to warm up – felt more like character quirks than actual problems. If you’re looking for a base to explore the island that feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in accommodation, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The house and property are beautiful. It has a well appointed pool and garden area with a great barbecue facility. The gardens and foliage are very interesting and there is a view of the valley and sea in the distance. The house is modern and well equipped.

  Une belle maison avec une très belle pièce principale et des fauteuils confortables (chose rare dans les logements loués) .
  L’équipement est bien avec une grande TV avec internet , les équipement de cuisine permettent de faire toutes les recettes courantes sans problème.
  La vue est sympa pour un logement loin de la mer.
  On est bien isolé des voisins par des murs .

  La casa es espectacular, tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar y un poco más, la atención fue excelente, el pueblo es muy bonito, creo que es indispensable carro para llegar, es bueno que tenga estacionamiento, es muy tranquilo y la vista es preciosa, la piscina es fría pero en todos lados es igual, árboles frutales y los espacios comunes muy cómodos

  È una casa bellissima, larga, perfetta per andare con bambini, ma anche in compagnia di piú amici. Molto attrezzata in tutti gli ambienti. La ragazza che ci ha accolti è sempre stata molto disponibile e reattiva. La nostra vacanza doveva avvenire nella costa Adeje, ma per un' over booking abbiamo dovuto spostarci verso Guimar. Pensavamo che la posizione non fosse molto comoda, in realtà è perfetta per girare tutta l'isola da entrambi i lati. Se invece ci si vuole riposare a casa, la zona piscina è molto piacevole, c'è pure una mini cucina nella zona barbecue. L'unica scomodità è la strada per arrivarci, sono dei vicoletti stretti con un buon dislivello, comunque dopo un paio di giorni ci si abitua senza problemi. Consigliamo vivamente, sicuramente valuteremo questa struttura durante qualche altra futura vacanza a Tenerife.

  Casa amplia y cómoda. Con un espacio exterior íntimo y bien equipado.
  Muy buen lugar para desconectar y pasar un buen rato con la familia.

  Das Haus ist großzügig geschnitten und bot viel Platz für 2 Personen. Es gab genügend heißes Wasser und ausreichend Handtücher. Das Haus ist im Wohnbereich und den Schlafzimmern mit Massivholzmöbeln ausgestattet. Die Matratze im "Elternschlafzimmer" war gut, wenn auch etwas schmal.
  Die von uns benutzten elektrischen Geräte haben alle funktioniert.
  Es gab viele Steckdosen und WLAN hat gut funktioniert.
  Nicht benutzt haben wir Toaster, Sandwichmaker, Stabmixer, BBQ im Außenbereich, Außendusche.
  Im Garten wachsen u.a. ein Orangen-, ein Grapefruitbaum und zwei Zitronenbäume.
