You know what struck me first about Villa Aurora? It’s not just the name – this place actually feels like you’re staying at someone’s really well-appointed home rather than a typical hotel. I mean, Calle El Manzano is this quiet residential street in La Cisnera where you can hear the birds in the morning instead of traffic, and honestly, that makes all the difference when you’re trying to decompress from travel.

The heated pool is legitimately the star here – and I say that as someone who’s usually skeptical about hotel pools. It’s not huge, but it’s perfectly sized for the property and stays warm even when the evenings get a bit cool (which they do in this part of Tenerife, despite what people think). The area around it has these comfortable loungers that aren’t the cheap plastic stuff you see everywhere, and there’s enough space that you’re not bumping elbows with other guests. What I really appreciated was how they’ve positioned it – you get sun most of the day, but there’s also some natural shade from the surrounding buildings if you need a break.

The rooms themselves feel authentic to the area without being overly themed, if that makes sense. Good air conditioning (crucial in summer), and the beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not too firm. Parking was straightforward, which honestly surprised me given how narrow some of these residential streets can be. The staff knows the area well too, which is huge when you’re trying to figure out where to eat or how to get to the less touristy spots. They pointed me toward this little local place about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would have found otherwise.

Location-wise, you’re far enough from the main tourist chaos to feel like you’re experiencing real Tenerife life, but close enough that you can get to popular areas without it being a whole production. La Cisnera itself is sort of perfectly positioned – it’s got that authentic Canarian village feel, but you’re not stranded if you want to explore. The 9.3 rating honestly makes sense when you experience it – it’s those little things that add up, like having actual water pressure in the shower and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

  The garden was lovely and the photos don't do justice to the amount of outside space. The pool was very clean and well kept.
