You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “Views of El Medano beach, two” is honestly kind of clunky, but once you’re standing on that little balcony looking out over the water, you get it. The views really are the whole point here. I mean, El Médano isn’t exactly a hidden gem anymore – it’s become this windsurfing mecca that gets pretty packed during peak season – but this spot on Paseo Amalia puts you right in the sweet spot where you can watch all the action without being stuck in the middle of it.

The hotel itself is solid four-star territory, nothing fancy but they’ve got the basics down. Check-in was smooth (I actually arrived pretty late and they were super accommodating), and the room was clean with that minimalist Spanish coastal vibe that works well here. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’re close enough to walk to the restaurants and bars along the promenade, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the late-night crowds stumbling around. The bed was comfortable, AC worked great (crucial in summer, trust me), and the bathroom was recently updated. Honestly, the whole place feels like it’s been maintained by people who actually care about the details.

But here’s the thing about staying in El Médano – you’re either going to love the constant wind or it’s going to drive you crazy. This is serious windsurfing territory, so if you’re looking for those perfectly still beach days, maybe look elsewhere. The upside? The wind keeps things cooler even in July, and watching the windsurfers and kitesurfers doing their thing is actually pretty mesmerizing. From the hotel, you can walk to the main beach in about three minutes, or if you want something a bit more sheltered, there’s a smaller cove about ten minutes south that locals tend to prefer. Parking can be a nightmare during busy times (the street spots fill up fast), but the hotel sorted that out for us without any drama. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  The flat is in a good position and comfortable. Many restaurants and shops are closed. you can see the beach and ocean from your window.

  We spent a week at the apartment and had a great time. The location is fantastic – right by the main beach and close to many restaurants and bars. The balcony is great for watching the sunset. The check-in was really easy and the host is very helpful. The WiFi was very fast – great for people who want to do some remote work.
