Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Vamos Tenerife on Calle Antonio González Barrios, I wasn’t expecting much. The street’s pretty quiet, tucked away from the main tourist drag in Puerto de Santiago, and the building has this understated vibe that could go either way. But man, was I wrong about this place.

The thing that gets me about this hotel is how they’ve nailed the balance between being polished and actually comfortable. You know what I mean? Like, the lobby’s got this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff – they’re not doing that overly rehearsed hospitality thing. When I asked about the best spot to catch the sunset (because honestly, that’s why you’re in this part of Tenerife), the guy at reception didn’t just point toward Los Gigantes cliffs. He actually told me about this little viewpoint about a ten-minute walk away that hardly anyone knows about. That’s the kind of local insight you don’t get at the massive resort chains.

The rooms are genuinely nice – I mean, the 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated vacation euphoria talking. Everything works properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess up the fundamentals. The air conditioning actually cools the room, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase. The balcony views vary depending on where you’re situated, but even the “lesser” views give you glimpses of the ocean between buildings. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night – Puerto de Santiago isn’t exactly a party town, but you’re still close enough to restaurants and bars that you might expect some noise. The windows must be pretty solid because I barely heard the street traffic.

The location’s actually perfect if you want to explore the western part of the island without dealing with the chaos of Playa de las Américas. Playa La Arena is literally a three-minute walk, and while it’s not the biggest beach on Tenerife, the black sand is dramatic and the water’s usually calm. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly for day trips – Los Gigantes is right there, and you can easily drive up to Masca or even make it to Teide National Park in under an hour. Parking’s not a nightmare either, which if you’ve driven around Tenerife’s coastal towns, you know that’s saying something.

I stayed here during shoulder season in late September, and the whole area felt relaxed without being dead. The hotel had a good mix of couples and families, mostly European tourists who seemed to know what they were doing – always a good sign. The breakfast setup was solid (proper coffee, not that watery hotel stuff), and they had local touches like gofio and fresh fruit that actually tasted like something.

Honestly, for a 4-star place, Vamos Tenerife punches above its weight. It’s not trying to be the fanciest spot on the island, but it gets the important stuff right and the location gives you that authentic Canarian coastal experience without the tourist trap feeling. If you’re looking for a reliable base to explore the west coast, this is it.

  Very clean apartment with everything you need even for longer stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the terrace is very cozy. The hosts were very kind and helpful, they even meet us with welcome presents and made us feel like home. Highly recomend!

  Ez a lakás egy kis ékszerdoboz! A konyha nagyon jól felszerelt, a terasz eszméletlenül szuper volt, még hangulatvilágítás is volt. Az egész lakás nagyon illatos, a berendezésben látszott az igényesség. A szállásadók nagyon kedvesek voltak, mindenről tájékoztattak minket. Névre szóló bekészítéssel vártak. A szálláshoz közel vannak a boltok, éttermek és a mi kedvenc Playa de la Aréna strandunk is. Jó szívvel tudom ajánlani bárkinek ezt a szállást.

  Mieszkanie czyste i bardzo dobrze wyposażone. Lokalizacja idealna – w małej miejscowości, kilka minut piechotą na plażę, do sklepu spożywczego. Apartament posiada piękny taras oraz ma dostęp do ogólnodostępnego basenu, który znajduje się pomiędzy budynkami więc w styczniu ciężko z niego skorzystać bo woda jest bardzo zimna. Przemili właściciele powitali nas osobiście, wskazali miejsce parkingowe (w garażu podziemnym) oraz udzielili wszystkich niezbędnych informacji i wskazówek. W mieszkaniu znajdują się wygodne łóżka, duży telewizor, pralka, wszelkie utensylia do gotowania, toster, grill, przyprawy, zabawki do piasku dla dziecka, parasol na plażę, ręczniki plażowe. Wszystko co potrzebne na udany wyjazd! Na stole czekał na nas szampan co było bardzo miłym akcentem na rozpoczęcie podróży.
  Nie było zmywarki ale dla nas to nie był problem.

  Wat een heerlijk appartement! Fijne sfeer en van alle gemakken voorzien! Alles is aanwezig in het appartement, de eigenaren hebben overal aan gedacht. Sleuteloverdracht was gemakkelijk. Je hebt snel contact met de eigenaren die ook erg attent zijn. Mooi en heel ruim terras was je lekker zitten, eten en relaxen. Het zwembad is heel dichtbij, wij hebben er enkel even aan gelegen en meer niet. Er zit een parkeerplaats bij het appartement wat ook erg handig is. Ligging was voor ons goed, centraal voor allerlei plekken die wij wilden bezoeken. Dichtbij het strand, en andere dingen zoals supermarkt, winkels en restaurants dichtbij op loopafstand.

  Sehr gut ausgestatte Unterkunft, alles vorhanden was man zum kochen benötigt und sehr sauber. Handtücher reichlich vorhanden inkl. Strandtücher..etc. sehr nette Vermieter. Komme gerne wieder! Sehr empfehlenswert!
