You know what honestly surprised me about this place? The name is a mouthful – Vacacional Candelaria vistas al mar con garaje gratuito – but it’s actually pretty straightforward once you get there. They literally put “free garage” right in the name, which tells you everything about how practical these folks are. And yeah, those sea views they’re advertising? They’re legit.

I mean, Candelaria isn’t exactly where most tourists end up – it’s about 20 minutes south of Santa Cruz, sort of tucked between the bigger resort areas. But that’s actually what makes this spot work. You’re right on Avenida Maritima, which runs along the coast, so you get that constant sound of waves without the crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Basilica (Candelaria’s famous for its religious pilgrimage site) in about five minutes, but you’re far enough from the main plaza that it stays pretty quiet. The garage thing is honestly a game-changer – parking in these coastal towns can be a nightmare, especially during the summer or when there’s a festival happening.

What really got me was how the staff just… knows stuff. Like, they’ll tell you the best time to hit the black sand beach down the street (early morning, before the wind picks up), or which guachinche up in the hills serves the best local wine. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the sea-facing ones have these little balconies where you can actually sit with coffee and watch the fishing boats head out. The whole place has this lived-in feel, like someone’s cool aunt runs it rather than some corporate chain. I stayed there during a random Tuesday in March and it was perfectly peaceful, though I imagine it gets busier during Candelaria’s patron saint festival in February – that’s when half the island shows up. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it’s just doing the fundamentals really well in a spot that feels authentically Canarian rather than touristy.

  Awesome location, very close to the mall and very close to the beach.
  The kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything. We used the grill every day to make perfect stakes. Basically, the kitchen was so good we hardly ever ate out.
  
  What could be improved: When it's windy you hear it. The noise, the ratting, the whistling. But I guess you would do the same in many other flats when the weather's like that.

  Candelaria è ubicata ad est, in un punto strategico, perfetto per girare tutta l'isola in quanto a pochi metri dall'imbocco dell'autostrada e comodo da raggiungere da entrambi gli aeroporti. Posto tranquillo, provvisto di tutti i servizi bar, ristoranti, supermercati, locali … L'appartamento all'8° piano di un palazzo offre un affaccio sul mare ed è accessoriato di cucina ad induzione, macchina del caffè a cialde, tostiera, microonde, grande smart tv, phon, un comodissimo divano e un letto con materasso davvero top! Con l'appartamento è incluso un posto auto coperto all'interno dello stabile e con accesso diretto in ascensore tramite apposita chiave. Nell'appartamento abbiamo trovato shampoo, balsamo, sapone mani, carta igienica e in cucina tante spezie varie, sale, olio, aceto balsamico … insomma cose utili x alcuni giorni di soggiorno senza dover far spesa. Host super gentile e disponibile. Sotto casa c'è anche un campo sportivo all'aperto e giochi per i più piccoli.

  La casa è come da foto. Molto funzionale, attrezzata di tutto, sia per cucinare che zona lavanderia. Condizionatore, due tv. Internet perfetto. Il parcheggio all'interno del palazzo con ascensore al piano è comodissimo. Nello stesso quartiere c'è supermercato fornitissimo, negozi, bar. Il proprietario è gentilissimo, pronto nelle risposte, attento alle esigenze del cliente e con preziosi consigli sui locali più tipici dove mangiare. L autopista inoltre è a 2 min. Ed è super pratico per girare l'isola. Consigliatissimo.

  Aunque nuestra llegada fue muy tarde (23.00) el anfitrión quedó con nosotros, nos enseñó el funcionamiento del garaje así como el alojamiento. Hemos estado en otros, dentro de Candelaria, este ha sido el mejor.
