Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Tropicalidays Soul Beach and Pool on Calle Hermanos Fernández Perdigón, I wasn’t expecting much from the street view. But you know what? Sometimes the best places in Puerto de la Cruz are the ones tucked away where you’d least expect them. This 4-star spot actually surprised me in the best way possible, and I mean that – I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that promise the moon and deliver cardboard pizza.

The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right between that laid-back Canarian vibe and actually having your stuff together as a hotel. The pool area is honestly where you’ll spend most of your time (well, when you’re not exploring the black sand beaches nearby), and it’s got this relaxed tropical feel without being cheesy about it. I loved that they didn’t go overboard with the “tropical paradise” theme – it feels authentic to where you actually are, which is this gorgeous corner of Tenerife. The staff genuinely seem to know the area too, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to figure out where to grab the best papas arrugadas or when the local markets are worth hitting up. Parking was surprisingly easy, by the way – not something you can say about every hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, especially during the busier months.

What really sold me though was how the hotel feels once you settle in. You’re close enough to the action that you can walk to the main drag and the botanical gardens (seriously, don’t skip Jardín Botánico), but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that you can actually relax. The rooms are solid – nothing fancy, but they’re clean and comfortable with that 8.8 rating making perfect sense once you’ve been there a few days. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but honestly? After a day of hiking in Teide or wandering around the old town, you just want a place that works. The morning sounds are pretty perfect too – you get some local life happening but it’s not like you’re sleeping next to a construction site. I actually found myself looking forward to the evenings there, which doesn’t always happen at hotels, you know? There’s something about the whole setup that just lets you decompress properly from whatever brought you to the Canary Islands in the first place.

  There's everything you need even for a longer stay. We've stayed for 11 nights. There was everything. Super nice host, nice and cozy balcony. Liked it a lot!
  
  What could be improved: A few small things to improve/to be aware of. First: you'll sometimes hear someone via ceiling/wall. These seems to be thin. Second: I'd replace door, as you hear everything on a corridor outside. Third: be aware of some noises in the morning outside (cars etc). Also, I don't know how we'd go inside building at 10-11PM if not a guy having keys. There was no one inside to open door for us, and you get keys from a locker near an apartment. These only small things to consider/be aware off. Small 🙂

  O espaço em si é bastante acolhedor e dispoe de todos os utensilios para passar uma estadia tranquila. A vizinhaça e o prédio são super tranquilos, dispõe de uma excelente piscina e tem bastantes serviços em volta do apartamento, nomeadamente 2 supermercados a menos de 5/10 minutos a pé. Fica, ainda, a menos de 10 minutos a pé da playa Jardin. Pagando a caução do cartão de estacionamento, tivemos sempre estacionamento disponível em toda a estadia dentro do condominio do prédio, sendo que fora deste, o estacionamento era dificil de conseguir, dado ter bastantes habitações turísticas em volta.
  
  What could be improved: A comunicação do anfitrião poderia ser melhorada, nomeadamente na rapidez de respostas, contudo, comunicou sempre dentro de um prazo razoável. Atendendo a que o cofre das chaves se encontra após a porta do prédio principal, sugere-se um check-in presencial (ou outra forma) por forma a não ter que se aguardar que outro habitante do prédio abra a porta do prédio, por forma a conseguirmos chegar ao apartamento.

  Problemloser self Check in per Schlüsselbox. Sehr sauberes und ruhiges Haus. Toll ausgestattete Wohnung mit vielen brauchbaren Extras und Details. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Immer wieder gerne.

  A szoba megfelelően felszerelt, még mosógép, porszívó és vasaló is található. A konyha is felszerelt mindennel ami kell. Jó helyen található, közelben vannak kisebb és nagyobb boltok, éttermek kicsit távolabb. A helyi strandok sajnos le voltak zárva a víz szennyezettsége miatt ezért ott helyben nem tudtunk strandolni.
