Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Tenerife, but this little townhouse on Calle Lugano absolutely surprised me. I mean, when you first pull up to casa 3 — and yes, the numbering system here is a bit quirky like most Spanish residential areas — it doesn’t look like much from the street. But honestly, that’s kind of the point. You’re tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Arona, which most tourists completely skip over on their way to the flashier resort areas.

The private pool is what sold me initially, but it’s actually everything else that made the stay memorable. The house itself feels like someone’s actual home that they’ve thoughtfully opened up to guests, not some sterile vacation rental. There’s this lovely courtyard setup where the pool sits, and in the evenings you can hear the neighbors chatting softly on their terraces — it’s that authentic Spanish residential vibe you just can’t get at the big hotels down by the coast. The pool’s not huge, but it’s perfectly sized for cooling off during those brutal afternoon hours when the sun gets intense. I spent most mornings there with coffee, watching the local cats navigate the rooftops (there’s always a morning cat parade, I swear).

What really works about this location is that you’re close enough to everything without being in the thick of tourist chaos. The TF-1 is literally five minutes away, so you can zip down to Los Cristianos or up to Santa Cruz without dealing with the parking nightmare that comes with staying right in the resort areas. There’s a small supermercado about a ten-minute walk away — nothing fancy, but they stock decent wine and fresh bread, which is honestly all you need. The owner was genuinely helpful with local recommendations too, not just the obvious tourist traps but actual spots where locals eat.

I will say the house can feel a bit warm during the day if you’re not running the AC, but that’s pretty standard for this part of the island. The bedrooms are comfortable though, and once the sun goes down, there’s usually a nice breeze that comes through. Parking is straightforward — you’ve got a designated spot, which is honestly worth its weight in gold if you’ve ever tried to park in Playa de las Américas during peak season. The whole setup just feels relaxed and genuine, like you’re staying with friends rather than checking into some corporate hotel experience. For the price point and the fact that you get an entire house with that pool, it’s honestly one of the better values I’ve found on the island.
