Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along Tenerife’s southern coast, but Toronjil honestly surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how Costa Del Silencio gets its name, right? It’s actually quiet here, which is saying something for this part of the island. The hotel sits right on Camino Toronjil (basically the main drag through this little residential area), but here’s the thing – it doesn’t feel touristy at all. It’s more like staying in a really nice apartment building that happens to cater to visitors who appreciate not being surrounded by pool parties and karaoke bars.

The first thing that hit me was how the staff actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. I mean, the check-in was smooth, sure, but the woman at reception knew exactly which apartments faced away from the road if you’re sensitive to the occasional car passing by. She also mentioned – without me asking – that the Mercadona supermarket is about a seven-minute walk down the hill if you want to grab groceries, which honestly saved me from asking those awkward “where’s the nearest…” questions. The apartment itself was spotless, and I’m talking about the kind of clean where you can walk around barefoot without that slight worry in the back of your mind. The kitchen actually had proper knives and wasn’t missing half the utensils like so many rental places. Small thing, but it matters when you’re trying to prep a simple meal with tomatoes from the local market.

What really sold me on this place was the balance it strikes. You’re close enough to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas (maybe 10-15 minutes by car) when you want that energy, but far enough away that you can actually sleep with the windows open. The views from most rooms look out over the coast, and on clear days – which is most days, let’s be honest – you can see La Gomera sitting there across the water. I spent way too many evenings just standing on the balcony with a beer, watching the light change. The whole area has this end-of-the-road feeling that I didn’t expect to love as much as I did. There’s something about being in a place where locals actually live their regular lives instead of just serving tourists. You’ll see people walking their dogs, kids playing in the small park nearby, that sort of authentic daily rhythm that makes a place feel real. That 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers – it reflects the fact that this isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  I liked the way Leo received us and helped with all the needed information. We were at Los Cristianos beach and in El Medano beach and it was easy acces with a rented car and "waze". Had always easy parking.

  The apartment is better than described , sparkling clean.One double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a second bedroom with a single bed and a second bathroom opposite. The kitchen has all the kitchen utensils that you may need during your stay. There are also two balconies. On one of them there is a washing machine and you can place a clothes dryer. On the second adjacent balcony there is a table and two chairs,where you can enjoy a beautiful view. Leo who met us at the apartment,was very sweet, always happy to help and took us to the airport for a very reasonable price.The nearest bus stop is a 3-minute walk. The nearest coast is 25 minutes. But there are no well-equipped beaches nearby.The best option is to rent a car if you want to travel around the island.

  Leo welcomed us on the ground floor and handed us the home keys. She had thoughtfully arranged some goodies for my wife, knowing we were visiting Tenerife for her birthday. She is a very kind-hearted woman and ensured that we had a trouble-free stay in her apartment. I strongly recommend her apartment to visitors.

  Very clean, functional and comfortable apartment. It has everything what is needed for vacation, even the various sun creams. The location is very close to the best beaches of South Tenerifa. The host is very kind and helpful. You can reach her anytime and she is very responsible. We were almost 3 weeks there and were happy to choose this apartment.

  Leo is a real gem. She had come to receive us. She helped us to find best places and with mode of transport. We were welcomed by excellent sparkling wine. Also at the time of leaving she had extended her love by giving a surprise gift 🙂

  Leo is an amazing host. She welcomed us in front of the apartment and waited for us to arrive. She also drove us to airport at the day of the departure for a reasonable price.
  The apartment was very comfortable, has everything you need, from kitchen equipment to a watching machine. It was spotless, the sheets were smelling clean. It has a nice balcony that gets sun in the morning. It has 2 bathrooms, which was a nice add-on!
  
  What could be improved: The challenging bit for us was travelling on the island. The location is a little remote from the beaches around. Me and my boyfriend don't drive a car, so we couldn't rent a car, we needed to depend on buses. Buses were most of the time weren't on schedule, so we needed to wait a lot for a bus to come. With the bus, it takes around 5-10 mins to arrive at the closest beaches, around 35 minutes to Los Cristianlos if buses are on schedule. So we would recommend renting a car or finding a private taxi.
