You know what struck me first about The Sun City Apartment? It’s tucked away on Calle de Zamora in this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the Atlantic waves but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, Puerto de la Cruz can get pretty lively, especially around the harbor area, but this little street feels like locals still live here – which they do, and that’s honestly part of the charm.

The building itself has that classic Canarian architecture thing going on, but what really got me was how they’ve managed to keep it feeling like apartments rather than just another hotel trying too hard. The lobby doesn’t scream “tourist trap” at you, and the staff actually remembers your name after day two (rare these days, trust me). The rooms are spacious – I’m talking proper apartment-style space where you can spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The kitchenette is actually functional too, which matters when you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market down by the old town and cook it yourself. Speaking of which, you’re maybe a seven-minute walk to Plaza del Charco, where the real action is, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the late-night bar crowd stumbling past your window.

What really sells this place for me is the location intelligence – whoever picked this spot knew what they were doing. You’ve got the Lago Martiánez just down the hill (those César Manrique pools are something else), and if you’re into the whole botanical garden scene, you can walk to the Jardín Botánico in about fifteen minutes through some genuinely pleasant neighborhoods. The street itself is quiet during siesta hours, which is perfect if you’re doing that whole “adapt to local rhythms” thing, but comes alive in the evenings when families come out for their paseos. There’s a small supermarket literally around the corner – not one of those overpriced tourist traps, but an actual neighborhood place where locals shop. The parking situation is… well, it’s the Canary Islands, so don’t expect miracles, but there are spots on the street if you’re patient, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car much anyway since everything walkable is actually worth walking to. That 9.3 rating isn’t just people being nice – this place gets the fundamentals right without trying to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles.

    The apartment is newly renovated and well equipped, location is very central with few steps to restaurants, cafes, shops, or beach.
    The apartment has a parking slot in the same building with easy access compared to the rest of Puerto de la Cruz options.
    Hosts were very welcoming and cooperative, and we liked the smart lock and extra keys that made us move in and out easily.

    What could be improved: Third room wasn't that private, noise of the street and from the neighbors were the price of the good location, but really that wasn't a big deal compared to the great positive things in this apartment

    I think rooms should have hard aircon installed, but again not a big deal.

    Vehicle parking is very difficult to come by, but this is common throughout area.

    Excelente apartamento. Moderno, amplio, cómodo, provisto de todo lo necesario. Camas cómodas, salón grande para estar en familia. Smart TV con las plataformas de streaming disponibles. Buen wifi (aunque en el dormitorio interior baja, por la distancia). Cocina dotada de todo lo necesario. Ubicación perfecta.

    What could be improved: Aunque no nos hizo falta, el aire acondicionado solo está en una habitación y es tipo “pingüino”. Esto no se describe en las características en booking.

    L'emplacement est parfait en plein coeur de Puerto, tout est accessible à pied. Le parking privé est une aubaine ultra confortable. L'appartement est vaste et agréable.

    What could be improved: L'équipement de la cuisine n'est pas insuffisant pour qui veut cuisiner, surtout pour un appartement prévu pour 6 personnes : il manque une grande casserole, des bols, un saladier, un couteau économe etc

    El apartamento está muy bien ubicado, cerca del mar y muchas tiendas y restaurantes.
    Las camas muy cómodas y el apartamento, en general, muy acogedor.
    Los anfitriones muy amables, fácil contactar con ellos y nos iban dando recomendaciones de actividades, restaurantes…
    El apartamento está a 7 minutos andando de los lagos Martiánez.
    Muy importante es que el apartamento tiene plaza de aparcamiento, ya que en la zona es muy difícil aparcar.
