Hotel Description
Okay, so The Harbour Club sits right on Avenida José González Forte – and honestly, when you first pull up, you might think you’ve taken a wrong turn because it doesn’t scream “fancy hotel” from the street. But here’s the thing about this place: it’s all about that location, and once you’re inside, you get it.
I mean, we’re talking about Los Gigantes here, where those massive cliffs just drop into the ocean like something out of a fantasy movie. The Harbour Club gets this – they’ve positioned everything so you’re constantly reminded why you came to this corner of Tenerife in the first place. The staff actually knows the area too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places just hand you a generic tourist map. These folks will tell you the best time to catch the sunset from the harbor (around 7:30 in summer, but get there early because everyone else knows this too), and they’re honest about things like which boat trips are worth your money versus which ones are tourist traps.
The rooms are solid – nothing revolutionary, but they’re clean and well-maintained in that way that makes you think the management actually cares about details. You know what I appreciated? The blackout curtains actually work, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag and the Spanish sun is relentless. Parking can be a bit of a dance during high season – the street gets packed with day-trippers coming to see the cliffs, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, no upselling or lengthy presentations about timeshares (yes, that’s a thing in some Tenerife hotels).
What really sets this place apart is how it feels like it belongs in the neighborhood rather than being some isolated resort bubble. You’re walking distance from the actual fishing harbor – not just a view of it, but the real deal where locals are still bringing in their catch. The restaurants along the waterfront aren’t all tourist joints either; there’s this little place called Restaurante El Rincón that serves the best grilled fish, and it’s literally a three-minute walk from the hotel. The whole area has this authentic fishing village vibe that somehow coexists with the tourism without losing its soul.
Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, and if you’re expecting marble lobbies and infinity pools, you’ll be disappointed. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring one of the most dramatic coastlines in the Canary Islands, with staff who actually live here and know their stuff, The Harbour Club delivers. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important things right. Plus, when you’re sitting on your balcony watching the sun set behind those giant cliffs with a glass of local wine, you’re not really thinking about thread counts or fancy amenities anyway.

Reviews
Loved the villa, the location, and the bar/evening entertainment. – Sarah from United Kingdom – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
The location was brilliant. Villa was very comfortable a the pool was great
What could be improved: It was a hot week so without full air con the villa did get hot. But that was not a major issueAlways A Treat – Archie from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
The sunbeds are the best I've seen anywhere. The welcome pack is such a great touch it really is appreciated.
Pool towels are a very nice touch.
The pool is excellent, the pool cafe / bar, the wine bar, the apartment layout, grab handle in the shower, the sit down bit in the shower was a bonus, shelving and hooks in the bathroom, wardrobe space, the views and location.
The people at reception, the pool cafe, the Wine Bar, the cleaning team and of course the maintenance team, changed our kettle toot sweet, they all make for a great stay
What could be improved: The shower head was abysmal, clinging to your butt shower curtain.
It said pool view, they didn't say I had to be quite tall and twist my head to the right. Location of the room, no WiFi in our room at any time, big bugbear.
Sunbeds all crammed together, a bit too touchy feely, luckily not too many people there when we were there. People vaping by the pool🤢, Smoking / vaping at the pool cafe, good job it was well open and I could dodge these inconsiderate people.
The place could do with some TLC here and there, but still pleasing to the eye tbh.Superb – Karen from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (9/10)
Location was great…shops and restaurants nearby. We didn't venture out much as kids wanted to stay in the pool
What could be improved: Just a bit hilly when walking back from the harbour…but we knew that when bookedGreat location in the resort – Dawn from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (8/10)
The jacuzzi is a nice addition
What could be improved: Very noisy -staff are banging about early every morning, talking non stop right outside bedrooms windows cleaning and there was constant maintenance noise with electric saws -the pool would be a lot nicer if they’d not have music blasting out all day every day -a bit of silence now and then would make it a lot more peaceful and relaxingFantastic – Sarah from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (8/10)
The location was great. The staff were excellent and the evening entertainment was fantastic
What could be improved: The apartments in Harbour Club 1 are a little bit dated (no AC), but has the benefit of being close to the pool.Excellent – Erja from Finland – 13 March 2025 (9/10)
It was very clean and nice pool! And staff fantastic! Everything was good
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was excellentSuperb – Monika from Lithuania – 27 February 2025 (9/10)
Very nice pool and bar area with a sunset view. Two balconies ant roof terace also with nice views to ocean and Los Gigantes. Wide apartments with to bedrooms, living room, separate kitchen with all equipment. Close to city centre: bars, restaurants, shops.
What could be improved: Difficult parking at the evening. Load live music on evenings maybe ok if you are ready to have a party, but if you are family with small kids it may interrupt your sleep.Amazing views and lovely pool – Pippa from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (8/10)
Fab pool with a beautiful view. Also, large terrace with a view over the town and out to sea from our apartment was excellent. (Not all apartments have the same terrace though). Light and airy rooms with good – and silent – ceiling fans in each room. We were in Harbour Club two – so a bit of a walk up the hill to get back and not so close to town. But we preferred it as much quieter in the evenings away from the noise of the bar and entertainment
What could be improved: Curtains are totally ineffective – and in the back bedroom, it was directly opposite a really bright light that stays on all night to light the steps around the block. It was daylight in the room. Had to hang towels etc in-front of the window. Needs curtains that actually block the light!Nice, clean apartments with loads of space, will definitely stay again in the future – Caroline from United Kingdom – 11 February 2025 (9/10)
The pool area was lovely, our apartment was spacious and clean with a sea view
What could be improved: One of our apartments had a view of a brick wall but we were advised of this before we booked , so couldn’t complain.Superb – Mooney from Ireland – 25 January 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was perfect for 5 friends. The duplex sea view in phase 1 is definitely the best option. 2 balconies with great views. The 1 bedroom apartments looked nice too but no view. The pool and Jacuzzi are great.
