You know what struck me first about The Cute Apartment? The name actually fits – it’s not one of those misleading hotel names that oversell the place. This little gem sits right on Calle de Valois, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (the street numbers can be tricky in Puerto de la Cruz), but once you’re there, you’re basically in the heart of everything without being stuck in tourist chaos. The building itself has that classic Canarian charm – you know, the kind with those wooden balconies that look like they’ve been soaking up Atlantic sun for decades. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from the main plaza. I mean, you can still hear the occasional late-night reveler, but it’s nothing like staying right on the waterfront where the bars go until 3 AM.

The apartment itself – well, it’s got that perfect balance of being properly equipped without feeling sterile. The kitchen actually works (I’ve stayed in places where the stove was basically decorative), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The whole place feels like someone’s actual home that they’ve temporarily lent out, not a corporate rental unit. The bathroom’s modern enough, good water pressure – honestly, after a day of hiking around Teide or wandering the botanical gardens, that shower hits different. One thing that really stood out was the attention to local touches. There’s art on the walls that’s actually from local artists, not those generic hotel prints, and the furniture has character. The bed’s comfortable too, though the pillows might be a bit soft for some people (I’m picky about that stuff).

Location-wise, this is where The Cute Apartment really shines. You’re close enough to walk to Playa Jardín – that black sand beach with the palm trees – but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every morning. The local market is practically around the corner, which is perfect if you want to grab some of those incredible tomatoes or fresh fish. There’s also this little café about two blocks down that serves the best cortado I had on the island, though I won’t lie, it took me three days to discover it. Parking can be interesting in this neighborhood – typical for Puerto de la Cruz – but the hosts were actually helpful about suggesting spots. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re looking for a genuine local experience without sacrificing comfort. It’s the kind of place where you can cook breakfast with ingredients from the market, then head out for the day knowing you’re coming back to somewhere that feels like home.

  Cute apartment lives up to its name and is charming. The location is convenient for the town and easy walking to everywhere. It is well fitted out and equipped with everything we needed. It was appreciated that salt, pepper, olive oil, ice cubes etc were already there. Lisa who met us was very kind as we were late and she was patient, generous and knowledgeable. She showed us exactly how the unusual door key works and how easy it is to use once set up and we had no problems. The TV is tricky but the balcony is delightful.

  Alle Möbel waren neu und sauber. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber. Da wir beim TV nicht alle Sender empfangen konnten, wurde ein neuer Router installiert, danach konnten wir alle empfangen. Die Wohnung wurde regelmäßig gereinigt und die Wäsche gewechselt. Das Personal war sehr, sehr freundlich und gut erreichbar.
