You know what caught me off guard about The Cool Apartment? The name actually fits – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in plenty of places with misleading names. This four-star spot on Calle de Iriarte sits right in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, but honestly, it feels more like crashing at a stylish friend’s place than checking into a typical hotel.

The location is pretty perfect if you know Puerto de la Cruz at all. You’re basically a five-minute walk from Plaza del Charco (where all the evening action happens), but far enough up the side streets that you’re not dealing with the late-night bar crowds stumbling around. I mean, you’ll hear some street noise during the day – it’s Spain, after all – but nothing that kept me awake. The apartment-style setup means you get actual space to spread out, which is huge if you’re staying more than a couple nights. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; there’s a decent-sized fridge and everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Mercadona down the street instead of eating out every meal. Speaking of which, you’re literally around the corner from some of the best local tapas spots that tourists usually miss because they’re not on the main drags.

What really impressed me was how well they’ve nailed the details – the kind of stuff that makes a 9-rating actually make sense. The Wi-Fi is solid (I was working remotely part of the time), the shower pressure is excellent, and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just “good enough for vacation” comfortable. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe without feeling sterile or corporate. Plus, the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no awkward lobby waiting or complicated key situations. I stayed during shoulder season in October, so I can’t speak to how crazy it gets in summer, but the staff seemed like they actually knew what they were doing. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, the stairs might be a bit of a workout, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of town. What sold me on the place was how it struck that sweet spot between being convenient enough for first-time visitors but authentic enough that you feel like you’re actually experiencing Puerto de la Cruz, not just staying in some tourist bubble. You can walk to Playa Jardín for your morning swim, grab coffee at one of the local spots, and still be close enough to all the main attractions without feeling like you’re camping out in the middle of everything.

  The apartment is well located and everything around (bars, restaurants, center, beach) is within walking distance. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the owners even send us some tips where to eat. Loved this place and will come back here for sure.

  perfect location, very good space in the apartment and endless choices for restaurants cafes tapas , the landlords were so professional and contacted us regularly with recommendations in this beautiful island as well as just making sure everything was good

  I highly recommend this place. Quiet place !!! Full equipped apartment. The apartment have 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 2 bathrooms and small balcony. The apartment has everything you need. You can find lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Very good price and Nice and helpful staff. We will be back for sure.
