You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “Sunset view in La Romantica” sounds almost too cheesy to be real, but honestly – they weren’t kidding about those sunsets. I mean, when you’re standing on that little terrace looking out over the valley toward the coast, watching the light hit the banana plantations below… it’s actually pretty spectacular. Los Realejos isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot (most people zip right past it heading to Puerto de la Cruz), but that’s sort of the point here.

The location on Calle Buganvilla is perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in an actual Spanish neighborhood rather than some resort bubble. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down where the locals grab their morning coffee – no English menu, just pointing and smiling – and the whole area has this authentic Canarian vibe that’s getting harder to find. The apartment itself is exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place: clean, comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works. The kitchen’s small but functional (I actually cooked a few meals there using stuff from the Saturday market in town), and the WiFi was surprisingly reliable, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely. Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s a residential street, but there’s usually space if you’re not too picky about walking an extra block or two.

What really sets this place apart is how quiet it gets at night – you’re close enough to hear the occasional car but far enough from the main roads that you can actually sleep with the windows open. The owners clearly know what they’re doing too; check-in was smooth, they left some basic groceries in the fridge (small touch, but appreciated after a long travel day), and they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations without being pushy about it. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting authentic local living rather than hotel service – if you’re the type who needs daily housekeeping and a concierge, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up to roosters crowing in the distance, walk to a genuine Spanish market for fresh produce, and have those sunset views without paying resort prices, then yeah, this little place in Los Realejos delivers exactly what it promises.

  We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is clean, spacious with everything you need even essentials for cooking if needs be. We were greeted by the friendly owner who gave us some useful tips about where to eat and what to see. The view is wonderful from the balcony and the area is very Spanish which we found great.

  The view was amazing, we were closed to hiking trails and also to beaches. The apartment has fully equipped kitchen and we had some nice dinners on the terrace with great sunsets. It was really easy to find parking around the apartment. The owner was really nice to us and provided a lot of tips&tricks.

  Lo que más nos gustó y lo que más disfrutamos del alojamiento fue la terraza. Era muy espaciosa y era muy cómodo pasar allí la noche. Por el día daba el sol y entraba mucha luz al apartamento y por la noche se estaba muy agusto en ella. Muy bien ubicada.

  What could be improved: Die Lage ist gut, angeblich ruhig. Ha ,es beginnt mit bellen rund um die Uhr von Nachbars Hund der sein Geschäft unter uns auf seinem Balkon erledigt, die Nachbar Kinder Fussball auf dem Balkon spielen usw.
