You know what struck me first about Sunset Bungalow Ocean View? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street – Calle Cernicalo – that most tourists never find, which is honestly part of its charm. Palm Mar itself is sort of this hidden gem that sits between the busier resorts, and this place captures that perfectly. The moment you walk in, you realize why it’s got a 9.1 rating – it’s one of those spots that just gets the details right.

The ocean views are legit, by the way. I mean, the name isn’t just wishful thinking like so many places. From the terrace, you’re looking straight out over the Atlantic, and if you time it right (hence the “Sunset” part), the evening light show is pretty spectacular. The bungalow-style setup means you’re not crammed into some massive hotel complex – there’s actually space to breathe. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in feeling without being shabby, if that makes sense. Good beds, proper air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and the kind of kitchenette that’s actually useful for more than just making coffee.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the area – not just the tourist trap stuff, but where locals actually go. They pointed me toward this little seafood place about ten minutes walk away that I never would have found otherwise. Palm Mar has this nice walking path along the coast that connects to the bigger developments, so you can stroll over to Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas when you want more action, but then retreat back to somewhere peaceful. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife will tell you is no small thing. The whole area stays pretty quiet even in peak season – I think because it’s just residential enough that the party crowd doesn’t really end up here. You’ll hear the waves more than you’ll hear other guests, which is exactly what you want. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re missing out on anything important.

  This was a lovely, well equipped home, suitable for a couple or very small family. It was modern, very clean and had everything needed to be able to self cater. The hosts were friendly, and left water, wine, coffee and tea for us.
  
  There was plenty of outdoor space and an easy to use lazy spa on the roof terrace.
  
  It was also quiet and private, which we loved. Great views too from the roof terrace. Perfect if you want to be away from the main strip of beaches, busy crowds and loud music. Would absolutely recommend!

  A charming bungalow in a very good location – close to the most important and beautiful places in the south. Equipped with everything you need – fridge, kettle, dishes, cutlery, towels. Everything was clean and almost new. There was wine waiting for us – it was very nice 🙂
  A huge benefit is the jacuzzi on the roof – we spent every evening there 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Given the hot weather, it would be useful to have a fan, for example in the living room.

  Nice, modern accommodation. Kitchen well equipped, lounge comfortable, bedrooms pleasant. Car parking easy. Walking distance to beach and bars/restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: Next door and house across the back had dogs that barked morning, noon and night. Therefore any enjoyment in the hot tub, relaxing on the sun loungers, or just dining all fresco, was destroyed. The bathroom… the shower head flips over when the water comes out, plus it runs cold quickly. It's a bit of a queer set up. It's almost like 2 houses. A key to lounge/kitchen, then across the yard with another key to open bedrooms and bathroom. The view from the terrace is scrub land and next door is a half built house, then looking in the other direction is roof tops. The sea can be seen if you bring binoculars.

  Viel Platz, gemütlich und gleichzeitig funktional eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Auch an Kleinigkeiten wie Erstausstattung mit Kapseln für die Kaffeemaschine wurde gedacht. Durch die verwinkelte Anlage gab es zu jeder Tageszeit schattige Plätze im Garten. Schöne Spaziergänge/kurze Wanderungen über Steinwüste und an der Küste entlang möglich.
  
  What could be improved: Unterkunft ist toll, man muss sich nur bewusst sein, dass die Bademöglichkeiten in Palm Mar wegen der zerklüfteten Küste sehr beschränkt sind.

  En general me ha encantado absolutamente TODO, un lugar tranquilo donde pasar unos días en familia, muy bien equipado y con toda la comodidad de una casa. Lo recomiendo muchísimo! La señora de la casa, muy atenta y amable, contesta todos los mensajes con dudas que tengas y con muchísima amabilidad, sin dudarlo un diez de diez. Hemos cogido una tarjetita con el número personal de la señora para futuras vacaciones.

  Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Zone am Rande von Palm-Mar. Gute Wandermöglichkeiten auf der grossen flachen Lava-Zunge. Man sieht hier, dass vor vielen Jahren die Landwirtschaft aufgegeben wurde und die Natur alles zurück erobert hat. Zur Begrüssung stand eine Flasche Wein bereit und Kaffee für die Filtermaschine.
  
  What could be improved: Etwas befremdlich war die Aufteilung der Wohnung mit separaten Türen zum Wohnzimmer/Küche und den Schlafzimmern.
