You know what struck me first about Sunny Island Playa Teresitas? It’s actually got this perfect spot on Calle Avelino Delgado where you can literally walk to one of the Canary Islands’ most stunning beaches in about three minutes – and I mean the kind of beach that doesn’t feel like every other tourist trap. Playa de las Teresitas is this gorgeous stretch of golden sand (imported from the Sahara, honestly) that locals from Santa Cruz still drive up to on weekends, which tells you everything you need to know about how special it is.

The hotel itself feels like someone took a standard 4-star property and just… got all the details right. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward standing around while they figure out your reservation – and the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you proper recommendations. I mean, they pointed me toward this little seafood place down near the fishing boats that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though honestly, you’re not going to spend much time inside when you’ve got that coastline right there. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re not completely isolated from everything. There’s something about the way it’s positioned that cuts down on street noise, but you can still hear the ocean if you open your balcony door.

Here’s the thing about staying in San Andrés – most people just pass through on their way to the more famous parts of Tenerife, but this little coastal area has this relaxed vibe that’s getting harder to find on the islands. The hotel sits right in the sweet spot where you can walk to the beach, grab fresh fish at the local market, or catch a bus into Santa Cruz when you want some city energy. Parking’s actually decent here too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to explore the northern part of the island. The 9.8 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be flashy or revolutionary, it’s just doing everything well without any of the usual resort nonsense. Perfect for when you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real instead of some sanitized vacation bubble.
