You know what caught me off guard about Sunny Island Apartment Ten-bel? The name makes it sound like some generic vacation rental, but honestly, this place has way more character than I expected. It’s tucked right on Calle Ten-bel in Arona – and I mean literally on the street, not hidden behind some confusing maze of identical apartment blocks like so many places in this part of Tenerife. The 4-star rating actually feels earned here, which isn’t always the case in the Canary Islands where standards can be, well, let’s just say flexible.

Walking up to the building, you get this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the place. The entrance isn’t flashy, but it’s clean and well-maintained – no peeling paint or broken tiles that you sometimes see around here. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give decent recommendations (they steered me toward a little tapas place three blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise). The apartment itself surprised me – bright, airy, and the kitchen was actually functional. I mean, you could genuinely cook a meal there, not just heat up leftovers. The balcony faces west, so you get these incredible sunset views over the coastline. Around 7 PM, the light hits just right and everything looks golden.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though. Arona isn’t the most tourist-heavy part of the island, which means you’re not fighting crowds every time you step outside. There’s a decent-sized supermarket maybe a five-minute walk away, and the bus connections are actually reliable – something that matters when you’re trying to explore beyond just your immediate area. The beach is close enough that you can hear the waves at night if you leave the windows open, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of beach bars and late-night partying. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season (July and August get pretty packed), but honestly, that’s true for most places around here. The apartment stays surprisingly cool even in summer – good cross-ventilation and thick walls that keep the heat out. I stayed there during a particularly hot week in September, and I barely needed the AC during the day. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – the shower could use better water pressure, and the WiFi gets a bit spotty during evening hours when everyone’s streaming – but these are minor complaints. This is the kind of place where you actually want to spend time in the apartment, not just crash between beach days.

  Fabulous, modern apartment! Spotless, beautiful with comfy beds, kitchen well equipped. It's just perfect.
  Superdino is very close, and there are many restaurants nearby. Nice pool. Great contact with the host.

  We loved the apartment as it was very modern and spacious. WiFi, air conditioning, and TV were all more than fine. We liked the apartment having two separate bathrooms. To top it off, the balcony was great as well as the environment neighbourhood is mostly quiet, especially on that side of the apartment. The private swimming pool at the compound was amazing to have a chill moment at the end of the afternoon. Also, there is a big supermarket right next to the compound. Our host was very friendly and helpful. She mostly responded within a couple of minutes to all of our questions and requests.
  
  What could be improved: There was no lighting in the living room that would provide for a cozy evening. All lights were very cold white instead of warm white. Also, the kitchen could use some basic equipment/ supplies like small bowls for breakfast, and an oven.

  L’appartement est vraiment cosy, bien décoré, très propre, lits confortables, linges, serviettes de bains, climatisations tout ça était vraiment bien.
  
  What could be improved: -Pas de four ce qui est indispensable dans les cuisines surtout pour les familles avec des petits enfants.
  – Un grand manque au niveau de la vaisselle et des équipements de cuisine.
  -Une odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain de la chambre.
  -Coupures d’électricité répétitives une fois la plaque de cuisson est utilisée,et il faut descendre jusqu’au tableau électrique extérieur au RDC pour remettre le disjoncteur ON.
  -Bruit des avions qui ne s’arrête pas ni dans la journée ni la nuit comme l’appartement est à 8min de l’aéroport Tenerife SUR.
  – Pas d’accès au parking sur place, on a souffert chaque jour pour trouver des places dans la rue et loin de l’appartement, ce qui est désagréable surtout avec les enfants le soir ou si vous faites des courses.
  – Pas d’Ambiance dans la zone où se situe l’appartement, il faut faire des trajets de minimum 18km pour trouver des beaux endroits et restaurants comme à Los Cristianos – Las Americas – Costa Adeje etc…
  – la vue du balcon de l’appartement donne sur le toit d’un entrepôt abandonné, et sur des terrains publics.
  – Le tarif de location de l’appartement est cher, loin d’être en rapport qualité/prix.
