The old town’s cobblestone streets are just minutes away, and you know what? The botanical gardens are close enough that you’ll actually visit them instead of just talking about it. The beach isn’t some distant afterthought either; Playa Jardín is right there when you want to escape the tourist crowds that tend to cluster around other parts of the island. Plus, there’s parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s driven around Tenerife will tell you is a genuine blessing.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was comfortable without trying too hard to impress — sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The balcony views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the less spectacular ones give you a decent slice of Puerto de la Cruz life below. Air conditioning works properly (not always a given on the islands), and the bathroom was recently updated. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything functions the way it should, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed on Tenerife.

The buffet breakfast is actually pretty solid — they’ve got the usual suspects plus some local touches that show they’re paying attention. Fresh fruit selection changes with the seasons, and the coffee is better than the typical hotel stuff. I appreciated that they didn’t go overboard trying to cater to every possible dietary preference; instead, they just did the basics really well. The restaurant area gets good morning light, so it’s a pleasant way to start your day before heading out to explore.

Look, this isn’t the fanciest place on the island, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters for an actual vacation. Puerto de la Cruz has this authentic Canarian charm that some of the southern resorts lack, and staying here puts you right in the middle of it.   Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Dinner was OK. But it was the rooms and spa which was a bit disappointing. Definitely ready for an update. Furniture in rooms very dated and scratched. Just needs to be updated for the price.

  Parking for motorbike directly out front. Nice modern wet room, 2 terraces with my room on the corner of the hotel with sea view. Soothing sounds of the ocean! Chairs and bed pillows in room very comfortable.
