This four-star property sits right on Avenida la Gaviota, and you know what struck me immediately? The way they’ve positioned everything to maximize those Atlantic views. I mean, the name isn’t just marketing speak — you really do get that ocean panorama from most areas of the hotel.

Location & Surroundings

Puerto de Santiago isn’t one of those touristy Tenerife spots that gets all the attention, which is actually part of its charm. The hotel’s location puts you within walking distance of Playa de la Arena — this gorgeous black sand beach that locals seem to prefer over the more crowded southern beaches. What I really appreciated was being able to stroll down to the waterfront in the evenings without fighting through crowds of tour groups. The area has this laid-back, residential feel that couples seem to absolutely love (and honestly, I can see why the rating reflects that).

The Accommodation Experience

My room faced the ocean, and I spent way too much time just standing on the balcony watching the waves. The setup is pretty smart — they’ve designed most spaces to take advantage of those views without feeling cramped. The furnishings aren’t flashy, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully chosen. I particularly liked how they’ve managed the lighting — you get plenty of natural light during the day, but it doesn’t feel harsh or overwhelming. The attention to detail throughout makes the stay genuinely comfortable.

Dining & Daily Rhythms

The hotel restaurant serves up a solid mix of Canarian specialties and international dishes, though I found myself venturing out to the local spots pretty often. There’s something about the pace here that encourages you to explore — maybe grab breakfast at the hotel, then wander down to one of the seaside cafés for lunch. The staff seemed genuinely happy to point out their favorite local places, which I always take as a good sign. Parking was straightforward too, which isn’t always a given in these coastal areas.

Why Guests Love It

After spending several days here, I get why this place consistently rates so highly — especially with couples. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone, which actually makes it better at what it does well. The combination of those genuine ocean views, the quieter location, and that relaxed Puerto de Santiago vibe creates something that feels more authentic than a lot of the resort-heavy areas. You’re close enough to explore the rest of Tenerife if you want, but honestly, I found myself perfectly content just enjoying this corner of the island. The overall experience here is truly memorable.

  We went to Tenerife for a month as a big family and booked 3 apartments close to each other. My parents booked the Serigor Bahia apartment. I can say that it was the cosiest, most comfortable and had the best view of all the apartments. My mother didn't want to leave it after a month. We spent all our evenings on the balcony of this apartment with a beautiful view, watching the sunset. There was nothing missing and the owner was very helpful and attentive. If we ever go to Tenerife again we will definitely book this apartment.

  Clean apartment with everything we needed. Sergio was very helpful and nice to chat to.
  The apartment isn't like a hotel room where everything is the same, it has character. Close enough to bars and restaurants but in a quiet location. Nice pool (although cold in January!) and lovely sea view. Easy access to the paseo for walks along the seafront.
  Welcome coffee, tea, bananas and a bottle of fizz was a nice gesture. Plenty of toiletries.

  The location of the apartment on the seafront was perfect. Very nice quiet pool which was always clean. The apartment has everything you need including pool towels and a washing machine. The balcony is large and seating comfortable.
  Around the property there are nice places to eat with great views and the area is quiet at night. The host was proactive and helpful, quick to respond to questions. We will go back.

  This is a great place to stay in Puerto de Santiago. The apartment is in a great location – close to the bars and restaurants and Playa la Arena, and beside the coastal path to Alcalá. The bed and bedding was really comfortable and the bedroom is at the back, so there's very little noise at night, apart from the sea! The shower was very simple to use and worked well. The apartment was very well equipped – it had everything we needed. The balcony looks over the good-sized communal pool (we didn't try the pool but other residents did) and over the sea towards La Gomera – a prime spot for afternoon sun and sunset. Sergio was a great host. We had booked him to do the airport transfer to and from the airport and he was very efficient and friendly.

  The views from the double balcony were out of this world! Everything was really comfortable and it's in a nice, quiet part of Puerto de Santiago which we've always enjoyed! The welcome and communication from the owner was excellent and we would absolutely love to return here!!
