I mean, when I first walked up to number 5, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place, but honestly, that 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re inside.

The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious – two proper bedrooms that actually feel like bedrooms, not those cramped afterthoughts you sometimes get in holiday rentals. The living area opens up nicely, and there’s this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the heart of things. The building’s got that solid Spanish construction that keeps the noise down, which is clutch if you’re planning to explore the hiking trails around here and need actual rest. The kitchen’s well-equipped too – not just a mini fridge and microwave situation, but proper cookware if you want to grab some fresh fish from the local market and make dinner.

But here’s the thing about the location that really makes this place special – you’re about a 10-minute walk from the coast, and I’m talking about the real Tenerife coastline, not some touristy beach setup. The path down is a bit steep (fair warning if you’ve got mobility issues), but it’s so worth it for those dramatic black volcanic rock formations and the way the Atlantic crashes against them. Alcalá itself is one of those spots that feels authentically Canarian – there’s a handful of local restaurants where you’ll hear more Spanish than English, and the whole vibe is just… relaxed. I’d actually recommend timing your stay to avoid the peak summer months if you can swing it, because July and August get pretty intense with the heat, and honestly, spring or fall here is perfection. Parking was easier than I expected too, which anyone who’s driven around the Canary Islands will tell you is not a given. The check-in process was smooth – the host was responsive and actually gave some solid recommendations for hiking trails that aren’t in the typical guidebooks. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between having your own space and being close enough to everything that matters, this place delivers.

  Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale. Rifiniture appartamento buone. In zona tranquilla.
  
  What could be improved: Nel bagno non ci sono ganci per asciugamani. La zona non è proprio centrale rispetto a Tenerife e per arrivare in zona turistica ci vogliono 20-25 minuti di auto. Un paio di doppie prese sui comodini aumenterebbero il comfort.

  Cate davvero super gentile e disponibile, appena arrivati abbiamo trovato qualcosa di fresco da bere in frigo, il resto del necessario per la cucina e il bagno e anche dei teli mare. Appartamento accogliente e pulito, siamo stati davvero bene!
