Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of beachfront places in the Canary Islands, but Seafront Playa La Arena genuinely caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you’re expecting just another decent hotel and instead stumble onto something that actually gets it right? That’s this place. It sits right on Avenida Marítima, which honestly sounds busier than it is, and the location is pretty much perfect if you want to be steps from La Arena’s black sand beach without dealing with the chaos of Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas.

What really struck me was how the staff here actually seem to know the area – I mean really know it, not just the tourist brochure version. The guy at reception (I think his name was Miguel) steered me toward this little family-run restaurant about five minutes inland that I never would’ve found otherwise, and he was spot-on about the timing for avoiding crowds at the beach. The rooms themselves are honestly what you’d expect from a solid three-star – clean, comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works. The balcony view toward the ocean is worth requesting, though even the side rooms aren’t bad since the whole area is pretty quiet anyway. One thing that surprised me was how well they handle the practical stuff – parking isn’t a nightmare like some places along this coast, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward.

Here’s what I keep coming back to about this place: it sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Puerto de Santiago’s little harbor area (maybe ten minutes if you’re not in a hurry), but far enough from the main tourist strips that you can actually hear the waves at night instead of karaoke bars. The black volcanic sand of La Arena takes some getting used to – it gets hot as hell in summer afternoons, so mornings and evenings are your friend – but there’s something pretty spectacular about swimming with those dramatic cliffs as your backdrop. The hotel doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I honestly respect. They’ve got the basics down solid, the location is legitimately great, and the whole experience feels authentic rather than manufactured. If you’re looking for a place that gives you easy beach access and a genuine taste of this part of Tenerife without the tourist trap nonsense, this is it.

  Excellent location, right in front of the beach. Amazing views of La Gomera.
  You have everything you need: Front terrance with jacuzzi, shower, sunbeds, lounge sofas and seaview; back terrace on the shadow with shower.
  Supermarket next door. Inside everything looks modern and well designed. You can watch the see from the kitchen, from the salon, from the main bedroom…
  Equipment looks modern and prime quality.

  We enjoyed our stay in the apartment very much – everything was nice. The apartment was clean, well equipped with brand new furniture and new appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary dishware, pots, glasses, 2 types of coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, induction plate, etc. The view of the Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking especially the mornings and evenings. We especially enjoyed the heated jacuzzi on the terrace which is a really great feature after returning home from a long day of walking/hiking on the island. We arrived with our rented car and had no problems parking right in front of the apartment, but you can park also in the optional garage. The location is excellent, right across the street to Playa la Arena.
  The communication with the host was fast and polite which we appreciated a lot 😉
