Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to San Felipe Suites – I mean, it’s tucked away on this narrow street in Puerto de la Cruz that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. Calle San Felipe is one of those quiet residential streets where locals still hang laundry from their balconies, and you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the main plaza without dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your door.

The building itself has this understated Canarian vibe – nothing flashy, just solid and welcoming in that way that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sterile hotel chain. The suites are genuinely spacious (and I’m not just saying that because I’m used to cramped European hotel rooms), with kitchenettes that are actually functional if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market and cook it yourself. What really got me was how quiet it is at night – you’re close enough to walk to the seafront promenade in about ten minutes, but far enough up the hill that you don’t get the late-night bar noise that can make some of the waterfront places a bit intense, especially during the summer months when the Spanish families descend on Puerto de la Cruz.

The staff here seem to actually live in the area, which makes a huge difference when you need recommendations. They pointed me toward this little local bar around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and when I had issues with my rental car, they knew exactly which mechanic to call – not the tourist-trap one, but the guy who actually fixes things properly. Look, it’s not a luxury resort, and if you’re expecting marble bathrooms and a concierge in a fancy uniform, you’re looking in the wrong place. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring the northern part of Tenerife, somewhere that feels authentically Canarian rather than generically Spanish, this place really delivers. The 9.2 rating isn’t an accident – it’s the kind of spot where people come back year after year, and honestly, after staying here, I totally get why.

  A great find! Everything you need set in the quieter end of Peurto. Clean and comfortable. Everything within walking distance. There is a large car park two minutes walk away so convenient if you have a car.
  The host, Josué, was extremely friendly and offered good local advice, from places to visit and places to eat.
  The outside area was very large and equipped for sitting out.

  The apartment is really well designed and equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Bed and pillows are super-comfortable. Common space is awesome. The location is perfect — lots of supermarkets, cafes around, and the beach is very close (10 mins by foot).

  Lovely place to spend some time in Puerto de la Cruz.
  The apartment war super pretty and extremely clean. It was well equipped with everything you need.
  The hosts, Josué and Carolina, are very welcoming and gave us tons of tips about places to go and to eat.
  The location is great – central but still quiet and with enough privacy. We loved having breakfasts on the roof top.

  Our experience was the best. The place is so peaceful, beautiful details and perfect for a couple. Everything is new, super clean and comfortable. The terrace is stunning with all the plants, a perfect place to have breakfast, enjoy the sun or rest. Josué is an amazing guy, was very kind and we loved to talk to him. He gave us great advices to hike to El Teide, beaches to go and best places to taste the local food. Puerto de La Cruz it's a great place to stay, it's very picturesque, you can visit by walking around, everything it's very close, in 1m you can see a perfect sunset and you can explore all the island by car, it's very central.
