You know what caught me off guard about San Andres Beach View Apartment? The name actually undersells it. I mean, yeah, you get the beach views – and honestly, they’re pretty spectacular from that spot on Pista Militar – but there’s something about the whole setup that feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than a typical hotel experience.

The location is sort of perfect if you know San Andrés at all. You’re right there where the military road curves, so you’ve got this elevated position that gives you those postcard views without being stuck in the touristy chaos down by the main beach strips. I actually appreciated being able to walk down to the waterfront in about three minutes, but then retreat back up to somewhere that felt… I don’t know, more authentic? The neighborhood has this mix of locals and visitors that you don’t always get in the heavily touristed spots. There’s a little café about two blocks over where they make incredible cortados, and the owner started recognizing me by day three – that kind of thing doesn’t happen when you’re staying in the resort bubble.

The apartment itself surprised me because it’s clearly been set up by someone who actually thinks about how people live, not just how they pose for Instagram photos. The kitchen has proper knives (you’d be amazed how rare that is), the shower has decent water pressure, and – this is weirdly important – the WiFi actually works from the terrace where you’ll probably spend most of your time. I spent mornings out there with coffee, watching the boats head out, and honestly it became my favorite part of the day. The sound of the waves is just constant enough to be soothing without being overwhelming, and you’re high enough up that you don’t get the beach noise but still catch the ocean breeze. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no hovering desk clerk trying to upsell you on excursions, just keys and genuine recommendations about where to grab groceries and which beaches are less crowded on weekdays.

The 9.2 rating makes sense when you stay there, because it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, the details are thought through, and the location hits that sweet spot between accessible and peaceful. I stayed in early October and it was perfect – warm enough for the beach, not so crowded that you’re fighting for space everywhere. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs blackout curtains, you might want to bring an eye mask – those gorgeous windows let in a fair amount of light, which I actually loved but I know bothers some people. But honestly, waking up to that view of the Atlantic stretching out toward the horizon? There are worse ways to start your day.

  An absolutely amazing place! Spacious, beautifully located, with breathtaking views. The apartment was spotless, extremely well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The beds were super comfortable, and there was plenty of bedding, towels, and all the basic cleaning supplies. There were even toys for the kids and gear for swimming – such a thoughtful touch!
  The area is peaceful and safe, with a beach that’s ideal for both children and adults. We loved how relaxing and quiet it was. San Andres offers delicious food, and there are plenty of attractions in the surrounding area. It’s also very easy to get to Santa Cruz, whether by car or bus.
  We spent an unforgettable 3 weeks here with our family and would return in a heartbeat. I can’t recommend this place highly enough – truly a perfect vacation spot!

  Amazing Location: sea view for an unforgettable sunrise. All the amenities, that someone renting an holiday apartment expect to have, were in place: oil, vinegar, salt, sugar and coffee ( most of time is annoying buying them for few meals, we did find also a bottle of water and couple of beers), laundry plus iron ( but most appreciate the laundry wash, not always provided in other apartments)! Toys and beach games ( very appreciated, flying and carrying our own wasn't an option)
