Look, I’ll be honest – the name “Royal park albatros bonito apartamento Golf del Sur” is a bit of a mouthful, but once you actually get to this place on Avenida J.M. Galván Bello, you sort of understand why they packed so many descriptors in there. It really does feel like they’re trying to tell you everything upfront. The location in Golf del Sur is actually perfect if you’re one of those people who wants to be near the golf courses (obviously) but also close enough to the airport that you’re not spending your first and last day in a taxi. I mean, San Miguel de Abona isn’t exactly the postcard-pretty part of Tenerife, but it’s got this authentic, lived-in feeling that grows on you – plus you’re literally a short drive from some of the island’s best beaches along the southern coast.

What really surprised me about this place is how quiet it manages to be despite being reasonably close to the TF-1 highway. You know what I think it is? The way the buildings are positioned and the fact that Golf del Sur was actually planned as a resort area – there’s more space between things, more greenery than you’d expect. The apartments themselves have that solid, well-maintained feel that you hope for but don’t always get with 4-star places. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I’m talking real counter space and a fridge that keeps things properly cold), and the balconies – well, depending on which way you’re facing, you might catch glimpses of the golf course or at least some decent mountain views. The whole complex has this sort of Mediterranean villa vibe going on, white walls and terracotta tiles, nothing too fancy but done right.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the staff actually seem to know the area. When I asked about beaches, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots but mentioned La Tejita, which honestly became my favorite beach on the whole island. It’s this gorgeous stretch of sand about ten minutes away where locals go, and there’s something magical about having that inside knowledge. The 8.7 rating makes total sense when you factor in details like that, plus practical stuff like decent WiFi, parking that doesn’t require a degree in spatial engineering, and the fact that check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re trying to enjoy Tenerife without breaking the bank or dealing with the chaos of the more touristy areas up north.

  What could be improved: The bed bases are too light ,. the beds moved if you moved if you turned , the mattress's were fine .
  the settee it wasn't balanced if you both sat down at the same time then one got up the settee would tip up

  The lady met me at the property as soon as I arrived and showed me the apartment. The apartment was exceptionally clean. Patio was in a lovely sunny spot with great views over the garden, waking up to palm trees cant be bad. The complex is big with a lovely big swimming pool. The whole complex is very clean and well cared for.
  
  What could be improved: kitchen not made for a short person of 5ft 1inch. Could do with a small kitchen stool to stand on to reach crockery and glasses.
  Bath very slippery. No bath mat. Used the hand towel each day to put in the bath.
  Safe did not work.
  Wifi could only sign into Golf Plaza free wifi which only worked in the bedroom!
  Reception no longer there so being a solo person felt very isoloted as no info in apartment for local amenities, doctor numbers or security telephone numbers etc.
  Apartments have no sound proving you can hear all their conversations!

  What could be improved: Check in takes quite a bit of time as key cards are required to access the security gates.
  
  Upon arrival checked round the apartment seemed ok until the kitchen sink handle was loose and a leaking bidet so had to constantly mop the bathroom , several marks and dirt on the interior walls.
  
  Faulty lamp in the bedroom with exposed wires so didnt use the lamp for safety reasons
  
  Stayed for 10 days with no offer of fresh towels or bedding exchange so had to buy laundry products.
  
  If travelling with prams or wheel chairs there is zero access to the property as neither fit in the lift so had to carry up 2 flights of stairs everyday.
  
  Upon checkout had to wait 30 minutes to exit the complex due to no keycard as they have to be left in the property.
  
  Have recieved a property damage charge of €127 for the faults mentioned above which shows that a pre hire property inspection has not been carried out i have seeked legal advice and will pursue this claim right through.

  Beautiful place , balcony and pool & bar . Love the gardens- waterfall .Great that there is a fan, washing up liquid, bottle of water on arrival, beach towels , extra blankets a few magazines and books.Very bright and good tv apart from the time is set wrong.

  Basen faktycznie podgrzewany, całkiem spory i częściowo głęboki powyżej 2m, otoczenie i zieleń bardzo zadbane, w mieszkaniu dostępne nawet kawa herbata cukier, fajny taras, brak wifi ale jest świetny zasięg LTE.
  
  What could be improved: Wieczorem trzeba trochę poszukać miejsc parkingowych, mieszkanie możnaby odmalować ale za tą cenę jest ok.
