The thing about this hotel is that it genuinely feels like someone designed it for people who actually want to do stuff during their stay, not just collapse by a pool. Don’t get me wrong – there’s nothing fancy about it, and at 3 stars you’re not expecting marble lobbies or whatever. But the staff actually knows the area, like really knows it. I asked about getting to the Camino de La Longuera trail and the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he drew out the best route and mentioned which sections get muddy after rain. That’s the kind of detail that matters when you’re trying to make the most of your time.

The rooms are… well, they’re perfectly fine. Clean, functional, and honestly the beds are more comfortable than you’d expect for the price point. You can walk down to Puerto de la Cruz in about 20 minutes if you want the touristy waterfront scene, or head the other way into the hills where you’ll find those little family-run restaurants that don’t have websites but serve the best goat cheese you’ve ever tasted. The hotel sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real, not in some resort bubble. I mean, there’s a local bakery just down the street that opens at 7 AM, and honestly, their cortadito beats whatever coffee the hotel serves.

The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it does what it promises really well. If you’re the type who wants to explore Tenerife properly, maybe do some hiking, see how locals actually live, and not spend a fortune doing it, this works. Just don’t expect a concierge or room service or anything like that. It’s more like staying at a really well-run local spot that happens to cater to travelers who want to actually experience the island rather than just photograph it.
