Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to RICKY PLACE on Avenida Jose Antonio Tavio, I wasn’t expecting much. Costa Del Silencio isn’t exactly the flashiest part of Tenerife, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The whole Chaparral Complex sits in this quiet residential area where you can actually hear yourself think, which is sort of a miracle when you consider how crazy busy the southern beaches get.

The thing that got me about this place is how it feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than some sterile hotel. I mean, it’s got that 4-star polish – the lobby’s clean and modern, staff actually remembers your name after day two – but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it. The rooms are spacious (and I’m talking proper space, not that cramped European hotel nonsense), with balconies that look out over the complex’s pool area and beyond to the coastline. What really sold me was the kitchen setup – actually functional, not just for show. You can walk to the little Spar supermarket in about five minutes if you want to grab groceries, though honestly, the nearby restaurants are worth exploring too.

Costa Del Silencio itself is this interesting mix of long-term expats and tourists who stumbled onto something good. It’s not party central like Playa de las Americas (thank god), but you’re only a 10-minute drive from all that action if you want it. The coastal walk that runs along the cliffs is absolutely gorgeous – especially in the early morning when the light hits the volcanic rock just right. And here’s something nobody tells you: the complex has this great little pool area that never seems to get crowded, even during peak season. I spent way too many afternoons there with a book and a cold beer, watching the occasional plane come in for landing at the nearby airport (yeah, you’ll hear them, but it’s not constant or annoying). The 8.9 rating this place has earned makes perfect sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but everything just works really well, and the value is honestly incredible for what you get.

  Buena comunicación con el aeropuerto. Se puede aparcar gratis en la calle. Pudimos hacer el checking a las 2 de la madrugada, en otros apartamentos no te lo permiten. Melanina es encantadora.
