So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to RF La Quinta Park Suites on Calle Bicacarera, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those lower expectations work in your favor. This little spot in Santa Úrsula actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. The building itself has this sort of understated charm – nothing flashy, but clean lines and that particular Spanish apartment-style architecture that just feels right when you’re looking out at the Tenerife landscape. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal hotel lobby drama you sometimes get.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know the area – like, really know it. When I asked about getting to the coast (because let’s face it, that’s why you’re in the Canaries), they didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps. They mentioned this little path that cuts down toward the water that honestly saved me a good fifteen-minute walk, and they were spot-on about which buses actually run on time. The rooms themselves are exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – nothing fancy, but the beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t tossing around all night, and the air conditioning actually works, which believe me, matters more than you think during those warm Canarian evenings. I noticed they keep the common areas pretty quiet too, which is something I always appreciate when I’m trying to decompress after a day of exploring.

The location is really the sweet spot here though. Santa Úrsula isn’t one of those overly touristy areas where you’re fighting crowds just to grab a coffee, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I could walk to a couple of decent local restaurants – there’s this family-run place about three blocks down that does incredible papas arrugadas that I stumbled onto purely by accident. And honestly, being slightly inland from the main coastal chaos meant I got better sleep and still made it to the beach in under twenty minutes. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it delivers on what it promises. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like staying in a well-maintained Spanish apartment than a generic hotel room, and you want to be near the action without being in the thick of it, this place hits that mark pretty well.

  Beautiful view over to Teidi. The apartment was a good size.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen was poorly equipped, eg no grater, no cafetiere, tiny chopping board and only 1 proper pan and a scratched up frying pan. No sponges given to wipe counters. The spa and indoor pool was a bit pricey so didn't use it.

  Warm welcome by Anastasia. There where not a lot of people, so we had the whole 3 swimming pools for 4 people 😀

  Overall really enjoyed but definitely not clear as advertised that you have to pay each time to use the heated pool as a guest, that you’re in apartments below the main accommodation, and that inside the main hotel was like a ghost town- we did go in January so I’m thinking in summer it would have more staff and facilities etc
