Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Residence Mareverde Casa Gianluca on Avenida Ernesto Sarti, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the ratings don’t tell the whole story, and this little gem in Adeje really surprised me.

The thing about this spot is that it actually feels like you’re staying at someone’s well-kept family place rather than some sterile hotel chain. Casa Gianluca has this lived-in authenticity that’s hard to fake – I mean, the kind of details you only get when someone actually cares about the space. The apartments (because that’s really what they are) have proper kitchens with real plates and glasses, not those flimsy plastic things you usually get. And honestly, after a few days of restaurant meals, being able to grab fresh tomatoes and jamón from the local market and make a proper breakfast was perfect. The owner clearly knows that travelers want to live a bit like locals, not just pass through.

What really sold me on this place was its position in Adeje – you’re close enough to the tourist areas that you can walk to decent restaurants and the bus stops for the beaches, but far enough up the hill that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise. The mornings are actually quiet here, which is saying something for this part of Tenerife. Plus, and this is key if you’re renting a car, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the coast. I could actually come and go without circling the block five times looking for a spot. The whole area feels more residential, so you get a better sense of how people actually live here rather than just the tourist version of the Canary Islands.

The apartment itself was clean and surprisingly spacious – I mean, the photos online don’t really capture how much room you have to spread out. The terrace was probably my favorite part; it’s not huge, but it catches the morning sun perfectly and you can see glimpses of the ocean between the buildings. Sure, it’s not oceanfront luxury, but for the price point, it’s honestly impressive. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the WiFi can be a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, but that’s pretty standard for this area. And check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that corporate hotel rigmarole, just practical information about the keys and local recommendations that were actually useful.

What strikes me most about Casa Gianluca is that 8.9 rating – it’s earned, not inflated. This isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s exactly why it works so well. If you want a real base for exploring Tenerife without paying resort prices, and you appreciate places with some personality, this is definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – but honestly, you won’t miss them.

  Lovely , clean, comfy apartment perfectly positioned facing the pool but still nice and private. Super location in the resort, a 5 minute walk to the beach with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

  In a lovely position overlooking pool and bar. Roomy comfortable bed and tastefully decorated. No morning sunshine but plenty of sun loungers available if you want to sunbathe. Sun shine on balcony from about 3.00pm which suited us. Danilo very helpful. Could not get air conditioning working contacted him and within a few hours had it back working (nothing wrong with it just didn't understand how to reset it). Apartment has all the appliances you need. Hope to return.

  Close to everything, yet tucked away. Great pool, nice neighbours, welcoming hosts. High chair and crib were promptly provided which is important for our young family.

  We stayed for 7 nights, at the beginning of April- excellent weather.
  The apartment was clean, the mattress comfortable, the kitchen equipped, and has a large terrace with a pool view.
  The pool was cleaned regularly, the water was tested daily from what I observed.
  The complex is beautiful and quiet, but some pools are under renovation.
  The accommodation is closer to Playa de Fanabe and to many restaurants.
  It's required a damage deposit of EUR 300, which you will receive upon departure. It's specified in the house rules, I didn't read it when I booked 🙂
  If you rent a car, it is a bit more difficult with parking spaces.

  Bellissimo appartamento molto curato e pulito, dotato di tutto il necessario per cucinare e con una bella e grande terrazza. Si trova in un residence con piscine e sdraio libere ed In neanche 10 minuti a piedi si arriva in spiaggia. Ottima esperienza!
