So I’ve stayed at Rentaliday Flamingo Mar a few times now, and honestly, it’s one of those places that grows on you. When you first pull up to Avenida el Palm-Mar – which, by the way, is way quieter than the main strip through Arona – the building doesn’t exactly scream luxury. It’s got that practical Spanish apartment complex vibe, you know? But that’s actually part of what I like about it. No pretense, just a solid place to crash while you’re exploring this corner of Tenerife.

The thing about Palm-Mar is that it’s not touristy in the overwhelming way that Playa de las Américas can be. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute drive from all that chaos if you want it, but here you get this more residential feel. The locals actually live here, which means the little supermarket down the street has decent prices and the café owners remember your coffee order after a couple days. The apartments themselves are pretty spacious – I’ve had friends cram into those tiny hotel rooms in Los Cristianos, and this is definitely better for longer stays. The kitchenette situation is basic but functional, though don’t expect any fancy appliances. The wi-fi actually works well (tested it on video calls), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which is more than I can say for some places.

What really sells me on this spot is the proximity to the coast without being right on top of it. You’re maybe a five-minute walk to some decent rocky coastline – not sandy beaches, but perfect for morning walks or watching the sunset with a beer. The complex has parking, which is clutch because renting a car here is almost mandatory unless you love waiting for buses. Check-in is straightforward, no weird hours or complications. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s reliable and comfortable. During the summer months it gets busier with Spanish families, which actually adds to the authentic vibe rather than detracting from it. Kids playing in the courtyard, that sort of thing. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you’re planning to explore the southern part of the island and want a home base that feels more like staying in a neighborhood than a tourist bubble.

  What could be improved: – Might be slightly noisy in the evening due to the restaurant downstairs, but it was not a problem if you closed the balcony door. Also after midnight the restaurant closes and it is quiet.
  – Beach in Palm Mar is not most suitable for swimming, but promenade for walking is nice.

  What could be improved: -No public transport from/to Palm Mar (only a morning bus, rarely seen)
  -Noisy evenings due to downstairs terrasse
  -Washing machine pinched some of our clothes
  -Dolce Gusto coffee machine worked as expected but no sugar available (or salt or pepper in case you want to prepare some food)

  The location was amazing,the supermarket is about 2min walk,there is a variety of restaurants and bars that are open literally below the apartment or across it directly(the prices there are affordable,easily you can eat like a king for 20-25€ a day there).Its perfect for outdoor people because right behind the apartment there is a hill with a pretty exciting trail with amazing views on ocena and tiede mountain on the other side of that hill there is a big town with beautiful beach bars where you can relax for gourmet journey back.There are plenty of activities perfect for kids and adults also.The apartment has beautiful views just like on the pictures.
  
  What could be improved: One issue we had was cockroaches,they were roaming around and we figured out that they come out of restaurants below the apartment im sure with some chemicals you can solve the issue because it was scary sometimes seeing them in the apartment

  What could be improved: Se devo trovare un difetto curerei di più i piccoli dettagli, lascerei due cialde del caffè, un po’ di detersivo per i piatti, un po’ di detersivo per la lavatrice per chi arriva in aereo potrebbe essere un plus.

  Nos encantó la limpieza y decoración del aparatamento. Está muy guapo. Es un sitio tranquilo.
  
  What could be improved: Faltaban algunos implementos de cocina como colador de pasta y tabla para picar. No hay playa cómoda cerca.

  магазина, в котором надо было забрать ключи (по инструкции) – не существует
  но если вы общительный человек – можете зайти в корпус с соседями))

  Fijne appartament in een rustige locatie. Je hebt alles wat er nodig is en het ligt vlakbij de toeristische plaatsen.
  
  What could be improved: De bedden waren oke maar de kussen zijn echt verschikkelijk klonterig. Helaas was de badkamer duur ook al toe aan de vervanging. Water in de badkamer liep slecht weg waardoor alles blank stond na het douchen.
