Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Relax Beachfront Vistas al Mar Studio” I thought it was going to be one of those places with a fancy name that doesn’t live up to the hype. But honestly? This little spot on Paseo marítimo actually delivers on what it promises, especially if you’re looking for something that feels more authentic than your typical resort setup.
The location is what really sold me on this place. Playa San Marcos isn’t one of those crazy touristy beaches you’ll find down south – it’s this gorgeous black sand stretch that locals from Icod de los Vinos actually use, which means you get that real Canarian vibe without feeling like you’re in a tourist bubble. The studio sits right on the maritime promenade, so you’re literally steps from the water, and I mean literally – you can hear the waves from your room, which is either perfect or potentially annoying depending on how light a sleeper you are. For me, it was like having a free white noise machine running all night.
The studio itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble countertops or anything fancy, but everything you need is there and it’s clean. What I really appreciated was how the setup felt practical rather than pretentious. The little kitchenette actually has decent equipment (not just a sad mini-fridge and a broken coffee maker), and the balcony – well, that’s where you’ll probably spend most of your time anyway. The view really is spectacular, especially around sunset when the light hits the water just right. You know what’s interesting? The building sits at just the right angle where you can see both the coastline stretching toward Puerto de la Cruz and the dramatic cliffs that make this part of Tenerife so photogenic.
Parking was easier than I expected – there’s usually space along the promenade, though it can get tight on weekends when families come down from the hills. The walk into Icod proper takes about fifteen minutes if you want to grab groceries or check out the famous drago tree (which, side note, is genuinely worth seeing even if you think ancient trees might be boring). What surprised me most was how quiet it gets in the evenings – even though you’re right on the water, this isn’t a party destination, so you actually get to relax without bass thumping from some beach bar until 3 AM.
The whole experience felt refreshingly unpretentious. The check-in was smooth, the place was exactly as advertised, and honestly, for what you pay, you’re getting prime oceanfront access without the resort markup. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab fresh fish from the local market, cook it in your little kitchen, and eat it watching the Atlantic roll in. Not glamorous, but somehow that’s exactly what made it perfect.

Superb – Dmytro from Germany – 7 March 2024 (9/10)
We enjoyed our seven days stay . The location is perfect. The apartment is spacy and comfortable.
What could be improved: One minor thing is that balcony view on the sea but just in front of the street where you can hear people sometimes.Superb – Jolanta from Poland – 2 January 2024 (9/10)

Passable – Cornelia from Germany – 6 February 2024 (5/10)
Superb – Yaniv from Israel – 27 December 2023 (9/10)
