Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Tenerife, but Punta Paradiso actually surprised me – and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place tucked away in Punta del Hidalgo. Most people barrel straight to the southern beaches and completely skip this northern corner, which is sort of their loss because this little stretch of coast has this raw, authentic Canarian feel that the tourist zones just can’t match.
The hotel sits right on Calle Océano Índico (love that street name, by the way), and you’re literally a two-minute walk from these dramatic black volcanic rock pools where locals come to fish in the evenings. The building itself isn’t going to win any architecture awards – it’s got that practical Spanish coastal hotel look – but the rooms are surprisingly well-kept, and here’s the thing that actually matters: you fall asleep to the sound of waves, not traffic or drunk tourists stumbling back from bars. The staff genuinely seems to care, which you know is rare these days. Check-in was smooth, they remembered my name by day two, and the housekeeping team left my weird collection of hiking gear exactly where I’d scattered it around the room.
What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation – they’ve got this terrace where you can watch the sunrise over the Atlantic while drinking actually decent coffee (not that powdered nonsense you get at bigger resorts). The 8.6 rating makes sense when you realize they’re doing the small things right instead of trying to be everything to everyone. Parking is free and easy, which is a blessing because renting a car here is essential – you’ll want to explore the Anaga Mountains, and the drive to Santa Cruz takes maybe 20 minutes when you need city amenities. The pool area gets busy around midday with families, but mornings and late afternoons are perfect for just floating around and reading. I mean, you’re not going to confuse this with a luxury resort, but that’s actually refreshing. No pretentious poolside service or overpriced cocktails – just a solid, comfortable base for exploring this gorgeous, underrated part of the island. The ocean here is definitely more dramatic than swimmable most days, but there’s something mesmerizing about watching those waves crash against the rocks while you’re having your morning coffee. If you’re the type who needs nightly entertainment and shopping within walking distance, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to experience Tenerife the way locals do – with incredible natural beauty, genuine hospitality, and room to breathe – Punta Paradiso gets it right.

This exceeded our expectations by a long shot. We arrived later than check in time and they accommodated us wonderfully. Our room was very spacious with a wonderful balcony with an incredible view that is unmatched! We kept the windows open and listened to the waves! You can’t skip the breakfast! Homemade healthy options that were delicious and plenty of food! The young lady that made our breakfast was the kindest human ever. Can’t recommend this place enough. Great deal for the price you pay.

I absolutely loved everything about this place and can’t wait to come back. The area is great—small and peaceful, not overly touristy but still convenient. The seaside walk to the lighthouse is calming and beautiful.
When I first booked this accommodation, I was a little concerned about dining options, but I was pleasantly surprised. The area has great restaurants and the hotel is close to supermarkets. There is no kitchen for the guests to use, but plates, cutlery, and refreshments are provided.
The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Another thing I was unsure about before booking was the size of the rooms since some reviews mentioned they were small. We stayed in the Blue Room and found it perfectly fine. Besides, we spent most of our time in the common spaces like the dining areas, the balcony, and by the pool anyways. All of these spaces are spacious, inviting, and so comfortable with great views of the sea.Suzette from United Kingdom (9/10)
