You know what struck me first about Punta Brava Relax? The name actually makes sense – it’s tucked away on Calle Victor Machado in a way that feels properly removed from the tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to walk into Puerto de la Cruz’s old town in about ten minutes. I mean, you could take the bus, but honestly, the walk down through the residential streets gives you a better feel for how locals actually live here.

The hotel itself has that solid four-star feel without trying too hard to impress you with marble everything. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the area – not just the obvious stuff like Loro Parque (which, let’s be honest, everyone’s going to ask about), but they pointed me toward this little family-run restaurant up the hill that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are comfortable in that understated way – good beds, decent shower pressure, and the AC actually works properly, which matters more than you’d think in summer. The sound insulation is pretty good too, though you’ll still hear the occasional scooter buzzing past in the morning. That 8.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but everything just works the way it should.

What really won me over was the location’s practicality. You’re far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with late-night bar crowds, but close enough that you can easily explore both the touristy bits and the more authentic parts of Puerto de la Cruz. There’s decent parking nearby – not always guaranteed, but manageable – and you’re positioned well for day trips up to Teide or over to La Orotava. The breakfast setup is solid (nothing fancy, but proper coffee and local stuff mixed in), and honestly, sitting out there in the morning with views toward the ocean while planning your day… it’s one of those simple pleasures that makes a trip feel right. I’d definitely consider staying here again, especially if I wanted a base that felt more like staying in a neighborhood than a tourist zone.

  The apartment was BETTER than we had expected! We loved the spacious layout of the flat. The rooms were even larger than we had expected from the photos.
  The terrace with the opportunity to read something or relax there increases the feel-good factor enormously.
  Everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped. The location is very good: you can reach a beautiful beach with black sand in a few minutes, as well as shopping opportunities nearby.

  The house is nice but the bathroom/sewage smell is very strong. The owners were helpful and reacted quickly, but couldn’t solve the problem. The apartment had a BBQ and a big terrace and a well equipped kitchen, located in a quiet area.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom had an intense sewage stink, which spread through the house and even got into our clothes. Any guidance to use the facilities (like the BBQ and washing machine) was missing, the owners were available to help out.
