You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name is ridiculously long – Plaza de la fuente Granadilla de Abona Tenerife sur Only Adults con terraza privada – but honestly, it tells you everything you need to know. It’s tucked away on Calle Tagoro, which is this quiet residential street that most tourists never stumble across, and that’s actually perfect because you get the authentic Canarian neighborhood feel without the cruise ship crowds that swamp the main tourist strips.

The adults-only thing isn’t just marketing speak here – they really commit to it. When I walked in, there was this immediate sense of calm that you just don’t get at family resorts. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly (not that rehearsed hotel smile), and they actually knew the area well enough to give solid recommendations. The private terrace situation is where this place really shines though. I mean, most hotel “terraces” are basically glorified balconies, but these feel like proper outdoor living spaces. Mine overlooked some local rooftops and you could see glimpses of the volcanic landscape that makes this part of Tenerife so striking – especially in the early morning when the light hits those dark rock formations just right.

Granadilla de Abona itself is one of those towns that feels completely separate from the tourist machine, even though you’re only about fifteen minutes from the airport (which is convenient, but you do hear the occasional plane). The locals still outnumber visitors by a huge margin, so you’ll find proper Canarian restaurants and bars where people actually live their daily lives. There’s this little plaza nearby – I think it’s the one referenced in the hotel’s name – where old guys play dominoes in the afternoons and kids ride bikes after school. The hotel sits right in the middle of this real community, which gives you a completely different perspective on Tenerife than the resort experience down south. Parking was never an issue, the WiFi actually worked well enough for video calls, and the whole vibe just felt… mature, I guess? Like it was designed for people who want to experience a place rather than just Instagram it. The 9.2 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well.

  The kitchen was nice we cooked every day and we had almost everything we needed, there is a sandwich maker we also used.
  The location is good, you do have supermarket in reach by foot 👍🏻

  Nice terrace but the time we stayed it was still too windy and cold to use it.
  
  What could be improved: No oven and only a capsule coffee maker.
  The couch is very tiny and not comfortable so we used the bed to chill.
  
  What I didn’t like and also didn’t read in other comments, the bedroom is so close to the street that we had to close the windows and you could still hear the cars, if you have a light sleep, like us then maybe try the penthouse apartment on the upper floor, it could be more quiet.

  The apartment was very cozy, big terrace with plants and some furniture. I enjoyed how interior was done, a lot of wooden and straw components, with style. Almost everything needed was there (tableware, washing machine, blankets etc).
  Big terrace is definitely great advantage.
  It is easy to find parking nearby (in winter at least), but you'll need to walk a little bit (up to 10 mins).
  Also placement is very nice, it was not noisy. However if you are new to Tenerife serpentines, it can be hard to drive through the town 😉
  
  What could be improved: Covers (blankets) were not enough for winter even in Tenerife, we were cold. There are also no heater, only air conditioning. There was a boiler for hot water which was not enough for taking a bath for 2 people.
  In my opinion there is not enough place for storage, because there is a wardrobe in bathroom, but bathroom has very high humidity and clothes were wet.
  The lack of dishwasher was tiring a little bit.
  The apartment was smaller than I expected and bed is small for 2 people.
  Looks like terrace is shared for 2 apartments, it is divided by plants. I am not sure because no one was there.

  The place is really nice and in a lovely location. Parking is a bit hard to find but that's the case in most small villages around. The amenities were really nice overall and the AC in both rooms was appreciated. I did not check the terrace so I cannot comment on it.

  What could be improved: There was a very strong perfume smell when I arrived. There were 3 little bottles of perfume spread in the small apartment where all the windows were closed. The smell was so strong that it was almost hard to breathe at the beginning. I moved the bottle on the window outside which fixed the situation but this wasn't a nice arrival. The pillows were way too stiff and there wasn't really any spare available (that I saw). Also the light in the corridor is automatic, which I don't personally like and I would have liked to be able to disable it but that's a detail. Also the bottom sheet in the bed was super thin, which is a nice feature for the top one but the bottom one would benefit from being a little bit thicker.
