Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Petunia 75? The location is honestly perfect if you’re one of those people who wants to be near the action but not drowning in tourist chaos. It’s tucked right in El Médano, which — if you’ve never been — is this laid-back beach town that feels like the real Tenerife, not the resort version. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from that gorgeous windswept beach where all the kitesurfers hang out, but you can actually get a decent night’s sleep because you’re just far enough back from the main drag.
The hotel itself has that clean, modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy. Four stars feels about right — it’s got everything you actually need without the pretentious touches that just jack up the price. The rooms are well thought out, honestly. Good blackout curtains (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to sleep off a long travel day), and the bathrooms are properly sized, not those weird cramped affairs you sometimes get in European hotels. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — like, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, there’s decent water pressure, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train. Oh, and parking isn’t a nightmare, which is more than I can say for a lot of places around here.
The staff seems to genuinely know the area, which makes a huge difference. They pointed me toward this little local restaurant about ten minutes away that I never would have found on my own, and they were spot-on about the best times to hit the beach (early morning before the wind picks up, or late afternoon when it dies down). El Médano gets pretty breezy — it’s actually famous for windsurfing and kitesurfing because of the trade winds — so having people who understand the rhythm of the place is invaluable. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers on what it promises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore the southern part of the island without dealing with the mega-resort scene in places like Playa de las Américas. It’s got that sweet spot thing going on — comfortable, well-located, and run by people who actually care about your experience rather than just checking boxes.

Superb – Kitti from Hungary – 4 December 2023 (9/10)
Lovely host. Well equipped, clean apartment with lots of storages. Always had parking space on the street. Definitely worth the money.
What could be improved: Nothing.Superb – Rihas from Czech Republic – 7 June 2023 (9/10)
Very quiet place. Plenty of privacy. Parking in front of the house. Excellently equipped kitchen. Close to the pool. Ideal accommodation for a couple who have a car at their disposal.
What could be improved: Due to the proximity of the airport, you can hear the landing planes. But the sound is not loud enough to disturb us.Superb – Jason from United Kingdom – 1 November 2024 (9/10)
Quiet location. Easy access to local town
El Medano – Martin from Czech Republic – 26 September 2024 (7/10)
Quiet location, except taking off/ landing planes.
What could be improved: Very unstabile WIFINice apartment, I recommend it – Paweł from Poland – 5 May 2023 (8/10)
Good price to value ratio. Nice big room with a kitchen, a bathroom and a terrace. No problems with parking at the street (beginning of May). Neighbourhood quite still and silent. Close to Playa Montana Pelada. To get to El Medano one needs to take a long walk. Generally I recommend to rent a car in Tenerife. Nice location because it's in the middle of main highway in Tenerife.
What could be improved: No air conditioning, it might be a problem in summer time, but we were in may and it was OK. There was a fan instead. Maybe a little bit frowzy when windows closed.A very nice apartment for a couple: clean, cosy, comfortable and in a perfect location – Malgorzata from Poland – 11 February 2024 (10/10)
Perfect place for those who want to stay outside of the town but still close enough to walk (about 15 mins) to the shops and restaurants. A nice clean beach nearby (Playa Montana Pelada) is good for nudists and for those who prefer to leave some textiles on. The cosy and comfortable apartment is equipped with all one might need, including towels, beach towels, books to read (in different languages :)), dish soap, kitchen utensils etc., which gives one a lot of independence and privacy. The bedroom opens to a quite big terrace wich was perfect to have a breakfast at and plan hiking trips to the mountains; we also loved sitting there in the evening enjoying a glass of wine.
Finding a spot to park a car nearby was not a problem.
What could be improved: Nothing to complain about.Exceptional – Katherine from United Kingdom – 20 January 2024 (10/10)
Comfortable, well equipped, clean apartment within walking distance of town and beaches. Good outdoor space.
Alles gut – Harald from Germany – 10 March 2025 (8/10)
Gemütliche Wohnung, gut gelegen, sauber mit schöner Terrasse.
Freundliche Vermieter!Appartamento e zona molto bella spiagge vicine e centro del Medano a solo 20min a piedi. – Ghidotti from Italy – 31 January 2025 (9/10)
l'appartamento, terrazza, posizione tranquilla senza problemi di parcheggio, l'Host Gianna molto disponibile, affabile e cordiale
Bonito apartamento – Santos from Spain – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
